This book suffers the fate of most middle books of a trilogy. It basically slogs along explaining the first book in more detail and setting up the last book of the set. Don't get me wrong - it is a good book. It does have subplots to add interest and there is some progress towards the end game but it is slow getting there. All of that said, I am looking forward to "White" and will listen to it shortly. The reader is fantastic!!!
Clearly # 1. I have listened to hundreds of audiobooks and this is the best yet. It is hard to describe adequately how good this audiobook captures the heart. If you are only going to listen to one book in your life, this is the one
None. This story is compelling and the narration superb.
Doc! Humphrey Bower captured the essence of the professor's character - or as Doc would say "11 out of 10" "Absolutile"
Yes but over 21 hours - not practical
The narrator was wonderful and brought the book alive. I compare him with Patrick Tull as my all time favorite.
This is a classic "page turner" action book. Joseph Finder does an excellent job of the ebb and flow of the book with high points of tension and then relaxation. The plot is believable and the characters are spot on!!
Nick Heller - of course!!!
He does a great job with all characters except the nephew of Nick. His breaking of the voice is over done. I know why he does it but - still too much
Final few chapters - I could not stop listening until finished
Nick Heller is the next Jack Reacher
Once again, Spencer is off with Hawkk to accomplish the impossibe. This riviting tail read by famed narrator, Michael Prichard carries the listener along on the adventure. Great listen!
Rescue of Susan Silverman
Absolutely. I listened while I exercise and I had to walk an extra 5 miles to finish
This book has "unabridged" as its description and it is a dramatic rendition. While it is ok, it certainly does not qualify as unabridged in the classic sense.
Great story to kick-off Stella Hardesty series about a self-designated avenger on men who have beaten and abused women in thier lives.
This is a great book about the political and social environment surrounding our early republic. If you changed the names and left out the duals, you could be talking about today's politics - intrigue, backstabbing, personal attacks. This book really fills in the gaps between the revolution and the War of 1812. The narration is supurb.
Our Mutual Friend is vintage Dickens with subplots, intense character development, and wordy. While the main plot lines converge at the end of the book, there are some plot lines that ramble on without a real tie in to the main lines. Having read or listened to all of the novels, I certainly was not surprised by the pace. I would strongly recommend this Audible version because the reader is supurb.
Fantastic series!! This book is the best of the three and wraps up all loose ends. I really enjoyed the reader. I strongly encourage people to listen to them in order or it will not make any sense at all.
Predictable but very funny book read by C. J. Critt. We found ourselves laughing out loud at the antics of the various characters. If you like the Stephanie Plum books you will certainly like this earlier book by Janet Evanovich.
