Is there anything you would change about this book?

The tempo of the book was actually a little show and the characters were not as likable as previous books.

What does Scott Brick bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Scott Brick has a very distinct way of reading books.

Do you think Stay Close needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

    Engaging great story

What did you like best about this story?

Have you listened to any of Edoardo Ballerini’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not listened to any of his other performances, but I really enjoy his style and the speed. Excellent. I will be looking for him in the future.

If you could sum up Speaks the Nightbird in three words, what would they be?

    history, witch trails and greed

What was one of the most memorable moments of Speaks the Nightbird?

The moment when Matthew discovered the secret - won't say more so I don't spoil it for someone else.

What about Edoardo Ballerini’s performance did you like?

I loved the accent as it was perfect for the story. It was told as a gentleman of the times, polite, even at the not so polite parts.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I couldn't stop listing. The story builds up very slowly and have surprising twist and turns.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

This book seemed a little sloppy. Easily resolved problems and no reason to get involved.

If you’ve listened to books by James Patterson before, how does this one compare?

I usually love James Patterson and his co writers, but this one was not up to the standards I am used to.

Do you think Merry Christmas, Alex Cross needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Definitly not. One was more than enough.

There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

Would you try another book from Peter Clines and/or Ray Porter?

    Yes, I would

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

The beginning was a little slow - once the story got moving it was good - if you can allow yourself to believe in the world Cline created.

What does Ray Porter bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Roy Porter did a great job with the accents of the different characters.

Was 14 worth the listening time?

I am going to say yes. It was not great, but good company while working in the yard and walking the dog.

It was his first big murder case - and one of the bloodiest and most violent crimes LAPD detective Danny McGuire would ever encounter. Andrew Jakes, an elderly multimillionaire art dealer, had been brutally murdered in his Hollywood home, his lifeless body tied to his naked young wife. Raped and beaten, the lovely Angela Jakes had barely survived the attack herself. Gazing into her deep, soulful eyes, Danny swore that he'd find the psychopath behind this barbarous act.

Which character – as performed by Michael Kramer – was your favorite?

Michael Kramer did a great job on all the characters. Sometimes the accents were a little hookey, but still good.

Why we think it’s a great listen: If you’ve ever loved a dog - or even patted a dog - this book, told from the perspective of man’s best friend, will tug at your heartstrings...and won’t let go until long after Welch performs the last word. Enzo knows he is different from other dogs: a philosopher with a nearly human soul (and an obsession with opposable thumbs), he has educated himself by watching television extensively and by listening very closely to the words of his master.

Have you listened to any of Christopher Evan Welch’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
