The year is 3149, and a vast paper destroying blight-papyralysis-has obliterated much of the planet's written history. However, these rare memoirs, preserved for centuries in a volcanic rock, record the strange life of a man trapped in a hermetically sealed underground community.

"Good book, but where's the introduction?"
    Overall

I took 3 cracks at this book because it's a confusing book to listen to. The story centers around an unnamed man who is brought to 'The Building' for an assignment. The unnamed main character is given a mission by General Kashenblade but sends him to another room he can't find to get them.

He then wanders The Building to find his orders. He is escorted by a man, who is then arrested. He befriends an old man who kill himself with poison when the agent says what is apparently the wrong thing. Another fellow agent shoots himself after talking with him. He is given his orders, only to have them taken away and replaced with blank pages before he can read them. Everyone he meets isn't always what they seem to be.

The book was good, but I noticed that the introduction was missing. I found the text online and sure enough, the introduction is missing, which would have explained what was going on better.
