"One of the best books I've ever read!"
This book had mystery, romance, suspense and made you feel like you were at home among friends.
My favorite character was Elizabeth/Abigail. She was very courageous and handled adversity in the best way possible and coped well with the hand that she had been dealt.
The scenes with Abigail and Brooks' mother were my favorites! Brooks' mother was such an affectionate free spirit and that was just what Abigail needed. It was wonderful to watch Abigail discover the wonder of being mothered.
This book made me laugh out loud and just generally feel happy. I enjoyed every minute.
"I'm hooked on the series storyline!"
I would recommend this book to a friend because the story of the entire series is irresistible. I really enjoy the Christian atmosphere of these books as well.
The family acceptance and support of the child after her injury was the highlight of the book. They never lost faith and never stopped loving her and appreciating that she survived.
I don't enjoy the portrayal of the male voices in the performance, but otherwise, it is wonderful.
Rejoice was definitely worth the time. I feel blessed by these books.
The books are very short!
"Good story despite outlandish plot direction"
I really enjoyed this book despite the fact that I thought that the plot was a little outlandish. I really enjoy the Christian characters and perspective. What really attracted me to the series, though, is the story. The story woven throughout the series is enough to get me past any deficiencies in individual books. The female characters are weak. That really bothers me. However, I got a kick out of how God took care of the loser cheating husband. The narration was great except that the narrator's voice does not do men's voices well. That bothered me a little. The bottom line is that I enjoy the stories so much that the little flaws just don't matter.
The Baxter parents were my favorite characters. The younger female characters seem weak. The cheating husband was a total loser.
Sandra Burr has a great voice. She is a wonderful narrator. Her portrayal of male voices bothers me a little. It would be better to have an actual male voice do those parts.
If the female characters had more brains and backbone and the writing was more rich and smooth, these would be the best books ever!
This was certainly a very short book for the cost.
"Should have been Halloween at Timberwoods"
This wasn't the Christmas story that I expected. This story would have been more appropriate for Halloween. For a thriller, it moved too slowly.
No.
Her performance was excellent.
I would have condensed the story into an action-packed adventure. I would have cut much of the second half of the book.
"Best Christmas Story!"
This is one of the best and most magical Christmas stories I have read in years! I enjoyed every twist and turn. I was on the edge of my seat until hearing the last few words of the story. This story had the magic and heartwarming aura of Christmas too.
Bobby was my favorite character. He was the pivotal character in the story who brought everyone together. It was a joy to see a broken and grieving little boy experience the joy of Christmas.
This book thrilled me because it is rare to experience a story in which the wrongs are righted in such a wondrous and magical way. This book encompasses the saying: everything happens for a reason.
Kristin Hannah is my favorite author. She never disappoints me!
"A sweet and heartwarming Christmas read!"
Meant to be
When she ran out of gas at the right place...
No. She is an excellent narrator and I look forward to her other books.
This book made me feel joy!
I thoroughly enjoyed the light fun and romance.
"Merle rocks!"
Merle was the star of the book. The book made you feel as if you could reach out and pet Merle and follow everything that he was doing.
He was Merle's voice.
I had to stop listening to the book at one point because I was in a public place and couldn't cry in front of everyone. After several days, I was able to listen to the rest of the book and enjoy every word.
The book successfully captured his personality and quirks. The relationship between Merle and his human companion was beautiful.
"A wonderful, intricate story"
Tense, challenging, and thought-provoking
The thing that I liked best about this story was the resolution. I was tense throughout the book, worrying about the future of a heart broken little boy. I was upset in the middle of the book when things just weren't going my way. This book was a great lesson in how God works things out!
The back yard scene at the end of the book was my favorite. I could picture it in my mind as if I were there.
Max was the best character. The story revolved around him and his simple child-like faith was inspiring.
"Awesome, warm Christmas story"
Orson was my favorite character because he started out as such a hopeless person and evolved throughout the story.
The way that Fannie Flagg performed the book was part of its charm. Her voice took me to the small community and drew me in. Her narration was part of the atmosphere.
I wouldn't change anything about this book. It was perfect!
Reading this book was like becoming part of a small community with heart warming and quirky residents. I loved the way that the whole community rallied around a resident in need. The main character in the story, the redbird, was magical. This was a book with a good plot that I couldn't predict and a wonderful ending! I would recommend this book to anyone.
"An amazing journey with twists and turns"
Yes.
This was an action packed story and the narration made it even better. The scenes that stand out are those that impacted lives and changed people - and there were a lot of those! Wow! I can't even begin to list all of the memorable moments and I wouldn't put spoilers in my review.
Susan Ericksen is a talented artist who enhanced the story with her voice. I feel that her voice drew me into the story and made me feel as if I were there. She became the characters.
This book made me cry and then ending made me happy.
I started reading this book not knowing what to expect and at the end, this book was so good that I bought every other book written by Kristin Hannah. She is a very talented author.
