Hidden deep beneath Manhattan lies a warren of tunnels, sewers, and galleries, mostly forgotten by those who walk the streets above. There lies the ultimate secret of the Museum Beast. When two grotesquely deformed skeletons are found deep in the mud off the Manhattan shoreline, museum curator Margo Green is called in to aid the investigation.

    "Narration ruined it"

The story is fine but I would say read the book, don't get this audio version. The male voices are nasal and irritating, and they don't fit the characters as they have been presented in other books. When the book tells what someone is thinking this horrible sound effect is used, sort of like they are shouting from the bottom of a well.

Why we think it’s a great listen: The most celebrated performance in all of Audible’s history, The Help has nearly 2,000 5-star reviews from your fellow listeners. We hear the print book’s not bad, either. In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women - mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends - view one another.

From the first sentence, I was taken in. The narrators are wonderful, they bring each character to life in a most believable way. The story is compelling. I heartily recommend this book.

Presumed Innocent was the fiction debut of the decade - a magnetic work of suspense that earned Turow acclaim for his unparalleled storytelling gifts. Now, in a brilliant follow-up, Scott Turow stakes his claim as an American master, in a mesmerizing novel of law, family and deceit. Alejandro "Sandy" Stern - the brilliant defense lawyer from Presumed Innocent - comes home to discover that his wife of 30 years has committed suicide, leaving behind a web of mystery, money, and guilt.

I did not find the story in this book at all compelling. Combine that with the monotone narration and the result borders on painful. The narrator does different accents nicely but overall his reading is monotone. I would not recommend this book.

Very enjoyable, I wish this author had more books. The narration is well done and adds to the story and character of Inspector Frost.
