"So so"
I love Joan Didion and I loved this collection of essays when I first read it many years ago but Diane Keaton's reading of it just seemed a little flat. I wish Ms. Didion had read it aloud herself.
"Eh"
It goes without saying that this is a great book but Tim Robbins as the narrator just didn't do it for me. I thought he did the voice of Daisy's husband Tom perfectly but the rest was just eh.
"Lyrical"
I have read this novel, seen both movie versions, and listened to Jeremy Irons read it - twice. It's that good. I would highly recommend reading this book first so you can really savor the masterpiece that it is. Then afterwards, listen to it. Hearing it read aloud gives you a much deeper appreciation of the lyrical quality of Nabokov's writing. I can't recommend it enough!
"Graham Greene & Colin Firth, a must listen to!"
Greene is really a superb writer and you can you hear just how great he is in Colin Firth's absolutely riveting narration, full of pathos, bitterness, and love. I wish Firth had played Bendrix in the movie version.
