Long and delicious. I can't wait to go back and listen to it again. It's so rare to find a story that stands so far apart from its contemporaries. Oh and how reality has imitated art in the decades that have followed this novel. If our society ever frees itself from the looters and do-gooders, this will become required reference material. Until then, at least we have these heroes to read about. Great narration as well. It had to be to hold up to 60+ hours.

Because of the age and writing style of this novel, the narration was key to the success and enjoyment of this book. It's a great story and surprisingly upbeat. The misfortunes are many, but the main character never gives up spirit as one catastrophe leads to another. Along the way, he encounters the worst and best that men have to offer each other and manages to survive the process.

I have to say that I was very skeptical downloading this book. However, the narration is good, and the story is clever, suspenseful and well written. I especially appreciated the manner in which the author took pieces from President Lincoln's life and other historical events to weave his fictional account of vampires in America. It's good guys vs. bad guys, and may the best man win!

If you are smart and hard working and wonder why you aren't rich, this book will give you the answer. It is the most elucidating book on the rich in America and how they got that way. It also makes it clear just how wrong most people are by associating "rich" with what they see on TV. This book should be a primer for anyone looking to succeed financially in their life. I never would have thought that hearing facts, figures and dry interview questions would hold me in rapt attention.

The narration is quite good. This is a classic from the genre. It is well written and entertaining. 3-stars are as a result of the depressing nature of this collection of short stories. At first I really enjoyed hearing the stories, but I was ready to jump off a building after listening to a dozen of them. It is the most depressing look at the future that I could imagine. Of all the stories, only a couple would I consider as containing hope or a positive outlook from the characters.
