"Another WInner!"
I have every "In Death" book in audio and I love every one of them. Always a great listen. There can't be enough said for Susan Ericksen's performance. Her voice range for various characters is nothing short of amazing. Even her sultry voice of Roarke makes you want to swoon. Eve Dallas and Susan Ericksen make for a very commanding team!
"EXCELLENT!!"
What a pleasant surprise! This being my first Dinah McCall book, I knew the narration would at least be enjoyable with my favorite narrator, but what a gripping story it turned out to be!
I would love to see this as a series with Laurel and Justin helping authorities "solve, save and rescue" with her clairvoyance and his 'connection' to her, his soul mate.
I hope a sequel is in the works, with the phenomenal team of McCall and Plummer!
"What a fun story!!"
Fun, sexy, heartwarming
There were many memorable and fun moments....I enjoyed the entire book, but I loved the scene with Lester handling the runaway Houdini under Matthew's guidance, and his triumph and eventual acceptance with his peers.
Savannah Richards is my favorite narrator because she makes the stories come to life with her amazing character voice range and the wonderful emotions that she instills in them. She is the best....especially with romances. So ANY book that she narrates is always better than the print version. It's hard to listen to other narrators after listening to her. This was my first of the series....I don't know if the others will be as enjoyable without her narration.
No extreme reaction....but it did put a smile on my face several times.
The light romances are not my usual genre, but I started trying them when I wanted a light story to listen to while working around the house. This is one of the most enjoyable ones that I've listened to. I found myself just sitting and listening to it instead of using it for entertainment while I worked.
"Best one yet!"
I tried the Hell's Eight series, but after the third one, decided i wasn't going to continue. I don't mind steamy, erotic sex scenes, but the obsession with anal sex turned me off.
But when I saw that one of my favorite narrators was reading this one, I couldn't resist and tried it. I'm so glad I did, because it was the most enjoyable one yet.
"Annoying narration"
This is my first Sherryl Woods novel and I love it. I have listened to Christina Traister in other novels and enjoyed her performance, but this one is annoying because it sounds like she has a frog in her throat and needs to clear it. It isn't obvious in some of her character voices, but most of them are 'gravely.' It's annoying, but the story is a delight.
"Want more like this"
I have never read Julie Garwood, just because her genre is mostly historical romance, from what I've seen. But this summary appealed to me and I'm really enjoying it! I've also discovered a new narrator that I like. A good book can be ruined by a bad narrator, but Christina Traister does an excellent job. I hope this team will be doing more like this one!
"Another great Virgin River installment!"
After reading Virgin River, I couldn't wait to start Shelter Mountain, and now I am totally hooked on the series. They keep getting better, and I feel like the characters are old friends and I'm growing with them. But what I am most impressed with, is Therese Plummer's performances. Her ability to alter her voice to very distinct female and male characters is amazing. But not only that...she puts so much emotion into her characters that I have found myself reaching for tissues to dab up the tears! The series is great, and so is the narrator.
"Third one's the charm"
I read the third one first because I like the narrator, and decided to try the previous ones in this series. After listening to the second one, I know I won't be listening to the first...the narrator makes all the difference in the world. The storyline was just as fun, but the ho-hum narration isn't as enjoyable to listen to.
"My favorite series begins here"
After reading the entire series, I am now listening to them. Suzanne Toren is spot-on with the voices and I am enjoying them even more with her excellent narration. In the Bleak Midwinter introduces Russ and Clare and by the end of the book (which is so complete with strong characters, a solid mystery and heartwarming humor) you can't wait to start the next one. Clare's military background enables her to hold her own when confronted with danger, changing Russ' initial annoyance with her, to admiration. You'll be rooting for them all the way.
Hopefully, audible.com with offer all of them.
"A Fun Read"
I had never read Victoria Dahl, but Savannah Richards is one of my favorite narrators, so I tried "Lead Me On." It has a decent storyline with a combination of humor, seriousness and very steamy romance. Good fun read.
