It was just another after-work happy-hour bar downtown, where business professionals unwound with a few drinks, complained about the boss, maybe hooked up with someone for the night. Until something went terribly wrong. At first it was just a friction in the air. The noise intensified. The crowd seemed oppressive. Some sharp words were exchanged, some pushing and shoving. Then the madness descended. And after 12 minutes of chaos and violence, 80 people lay dead.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I recommend this book and the entire series. Nora Roberts writing as J D Robb has built an exciting, emotional futuristic world that keeps me coming back for more.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Delusion In Death?

To give detail would be a spoiler ... but I will say that Eve talking about her private issues with Dr. Myra is a definite highlight.

Have you listened to any of Susan Ericksen’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

As usual, Susan Ericksen reads perfectly. I love all her character voices, especially Rourke's Irish lilt. I have looked for other books she narrates and have never been disappointed with her performance in any of them, either.

With indifferent parents, Iona Sheehan grew up craving devotion and acceptance. From her maternal grandmother, she learned where to find both: a land of lush forests, dazzling lakes, and centuries-old legends. Ireland. County Mayo, to be exact. Where her ancestors’ blood and magic have flowed through generations - and where her destiny awaits.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

After reading Nora's books for decades, this one is predictable. The storyline is getting stale ... it doesn't matter what/who/where the story takes place.Other than getting out of the storyline rut, I can't think of anything.

Would you recommend Dark Witch to your friends? Why or why not?

Recommend to Nora fans who never tire of the same old same old.

Which character – as performed by Katherine Kellgren – was your favorite?

No favorite ... that in itself is sad.

Do you think Dark Witch needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

We already know the six that will be the 3 H/H combinations, so yes, finish them off. I won't pair them here to spoil readers who don't know where this is leading.

    Any additional comments?

If I weren't such a big fan, I wouldn't even have picked this one up. I can say I will wait on library checkouts ... saves money better spent on fresh story lines from other authors.

When Lady Georgette Thorold awoke she saw...her corset hanging from the armoire...a very handsome, very naked Scotsman lying beside her...and a wedding ring on her finger! Before the attractive stranger can tell her his name, Georgette does the only sensible thing - she runs for it. Little does she know, James MacKenzie isn't clear on what happened the night before, either. All he knows is that his money is missing and the stunning woman who just ran from the room is either his wife or a thief...or possibly both.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The first of the book dragged on and on ... I was at the point of putting it down as unreadable. I'm glad I didn't because the second half was worth hearing.

What could Jennifer McQuiston have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

She could cut down the H/H rushing around trying to find each other ... all the while dragging the book down as to what occurred the night before .... way way too long on that aspect of the story IMO.

Which character – as performed by Lana J. Weston – was your favorite?

The hero, James, was my favorite. Even when he was hateful ... I liked him. The narrator did a good job ... even with the extensive dragging parts of the story.

Was What Happens in Scotland worth the listening time?

As I mentioned before, only half of it was worth the listen. That is why the rating is so low from me. The last half was actually a 3.5 out of 5 stars for me .... the beginning half was a -2 star if that were possible here.

    Any additional comments?

Knowing what I do now, and even enjoying the second half, I would not have missed not reading this book. Perhaps it is your cup of tea throughout ... everyone has different tastes after all.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I highly recommend this book. It takes you on an emotional ride with many twists and turns.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Macrieve?

There are so many, I can't (and won't due to avoiding spoilers) choose just one.

    Which scene was your favorite?

I have to give the same message as before. There are so many, I can't (and won't due to avoiding spoilers) choose just one.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book made me laugh and cry with a myriad of emotions in between. The author has written a storyline that brings your emotions into the story .... you have to react ... you are so drawn into their lives.

    Any additional comments?

The narrator performs an amazing read and you won't be able to put this down once you start it!

The spunky heroine of Romancing the Dead returns in this utterly bewitching series. Witch Garnet Lacey is ready to walk down the aisle with the super sexy vampire Sebastian. Besides the fact that he has no pulse, things couldn't be more perfect. Until plans for the wedding start falling apart, and Sebastian's zombie-slash-vampire-slash witch ex-lover decides that both of them should be six feet under. It's just a matter of time before Garnet-who's already sharing her body with a short-tempered goddess-morphs into Bridezilla.

What would have made Dead If I Do better?

The story drags and I couldn't get into it so not sure anything could salvage it. I tried but I just could not go through the torture to finish it.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Not sure what I'll find for the next ones ... but July 9th it will be Fifth Grave Past the Light. I love Darynda Jones' Charley Davidson series!

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Sadly, the narration was as bad as the story so they were uncomplimentary to each other.

What character would you cut from Dead If I Do?

The H/H and all the supporting cast.

    Any additional comments?

Don't waste your time if you are used to higher end stories ... I won't be buying more of this author.

What did you love best about Suspect?

I usually don't read this genre ... but the USMC working dog that ends up a K-9 police dog ... I couldn't resist her.

What did you like best about this story?

Maggie, the dog, brought it all home for me. The story line is exceptionally well written and the story draws you in quickly.

What about MacLeod Andrews’s performance did you like?

The narration was perfect. This is a book that is difficult to set aside. You want to keep listening to the very end!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I can't give away any spoilers but the prologue and the end of the book were both momentous to me.

I am recommending this to everyone I know ... not just with this review but by word of mouth as well.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Ms Harris following her normal, action packed writing style.

Would you ever listen to anything by Charlaine Harris again?

I have been with this series since the release of Book 1. I am so disappointed with this ending book ... on many levels .... that I'm not sure I'll read anything else by her.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Narrator was good. I can't say anything else was good, though. I disliked the lukewarm, need to wrap this up feeling I got while reading.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Waited for it to get better as I read ... it never did .... I am angry and disappointed that I spent so long living in a series to have this 'throw the fans a bone' finish to it. Just get it done, never mind the years and money spent by faithful fans ... they'll just have to suck it up. Yes, I lost much respect for Ms. Harris' writing with this one very poorly written book ... most especially because it was THE END of a series.

    Any additional comments?

I have never had a negative review of any book in the Sookie Stackhouse series. Sure, I liked some books more than others. This book is the worst collection of drivel ... because what should have been a shining moment in the ending of the series ... read like a feast without any seasoning. Lots to eat but nothing tasted good so my appetite was long gone well before the end came.

The entire series with Cat and Bones. I love this author for her ability to write amazing stories.

This is the perfect narrator for the series! I hope it doesn't change!
