"Guess this is YA"
Nothing could have made this better. It must be young adult or something, although I didn't see it marked as such.
Really not much story line and very repetitive.
Juvenile storyline, writing and overall don't waste a credit or money.
"Excellent Start to the series!"
Curse vs Love
No other book I can think to compare.
Neal - his strength in the face of adversity.
Yes and I did listen in one sitting.
Would be nice if book 2 - Scottish Witch - was available on audible. I will be ordering the paperback I suppose.
"What a Letdown: I Feel Cheated"
Ms Harris following her normal, action packed writing style.
I have been with this series since the release of Book 1. I am so disappointed with this ending book ... on many levels .... that I'm not sure I'll read anything else by her.
Narrator was good. I can't say anything else was good, though. I disliked the lukewarm, need to wrap this up feeling I got while reading.
Waited for it to get better as I read ... it never did .... I am angry and disappointed that I spent so long living in a series to have this 'throw the fans a bone' finish to it. Just get it done, never mind the years and money spent by faithful fans ... they'll just have to suck it up. Yes, I lost much respect for Ms. Harris' writing with this one very poorly written book ... most especially because it was THE END of a series.
I have never had a negative review of any book in the Sookie Stackhouse series. Sure, I liked some books more than others. This book is the worst collection of drivel ... because what should have been a shining moment in the ending of the series ... read like a feast without any seasoning. Lots to eat but nothing tasted good so my appetite was long gone well before the end came.
"Love Nora but not this book"
The story line wasn't as good as her others. I couldn't seem to identify or sympathize with any of the characters.
The story was made intolerable by the bad narration. Accents that should be there weren't. I had to make myself listen to this book. To be fair, perhaps he does better in a different genre. However, I won't be quick to buy an audible book if Peter Berkrot is the reader.
Different Narrator: More suitable to the story and setting.
As a lifelong fan of Nora Roberts, I finished the book. I don't have anything very positive to say recommending it.
If you are determined to read all of Nora's books: buy this in paper edition. The narrator ruined the story line and characters and I would not spend money or a credit on this audible version.
"Worth the Wait!"
I love the author and the narrator so this second book in the series has cemented my determination to continue to follow this series.
All the cat and Bones book, in their series, are as good as this one. The author writes in-depth characters and in a style I adore.
"Great Start to a series! I love it!"
At the top of the list! I love Jeaniene Frost! Cat and Bones introduced me to her writing and this one is right up there with all of their stories!
The entire series with Cat and Bones. I love this author for her ability to write amazing stories.
This is the perfect narrator for the series! I hope it doesn't change!
I will be listening to this book again. The second in the series came out today and I plan on listening to the two back to back. Of course, the second book is even more brilliant than the first (believe me, that's saying something) and I have finished it already!
You don't want to miss this series! Especially if you love Cat and Bones! Jeaniene Frost knows how to write strong women and men so we all fall in love with them!
"Agree With All the Positive Reviews Here!"
I will definitely listen to this again. It was amazing and funny ... I don't have a negative thing to say about this story!
There is more than one character that I give the title of favorite ... the leading couple is truly awesome together.
I can't reveal my favorite scene ... it would be a spoiler. You'll know once you hear it.
XXX rated but great shifter fun.
If you don't like XXX, don't buy this. Other than that, I recommend it to anyone of legal age.
"Don't waste a credit or money!"
Could not get into this one at all. I love Molly Harper but this one disappointed.
Yes, but her vampire series not anything else.
Didn't like her narration but it might be because of the book itself so not sure.
Disappointment and very bored.
Arguably the worst purchase I've mad from audible.
"Confusing"
No, this book was hard to follow and definitely not to my taste. I won't waste more time with them.
Not entirely. I will just be more careful when I try new to me authors.
There wasn't much he could do to improve the story.
No redeeming qualities anywhere.
Don't waste your credit.
"Not the first book in the series"
I should have started with the first book in the series. I am only half way through this and will come back to it. However, I think it would have made more sense if I had started at the beginning.
"First Time Reading This Author"
I would listen again ... I enjoyed the story line. The narrator ... not so much.
Irritating. Limited. Disappointing. I didn't think she had enough 'voices' for the characters. Especially hard to listen to the lead woman's voice.
The Duke's reaction when he learns the biggest secret. Sorry, more would be a spoiler.
