In the heart of Italy, Harvard professor of symbology, Robert Langdon, is drawn into a harrowing world centered on one of history’s most enduring and mysterious literary masterpieces: Dante’s Inferno. Against this backdrop, Langdon battles a chilling adversary and grapples with an ingenious riddle that pulls him into a landscape of classic art, secret passageways, and futuristic science. Drawing from Dante’s dark epic poem, Langdon races to find answers and decide whom to trust...before the world is irrevocably altered.

Again another let down from Dan Brown. I loved his earlier work so I thought I would try again. Sadly this book was very dull. I forced my self to finish it because I have never given up on a book.

Would you listen to The Bone Season again? Why?

I have already listened to this book twice! The story line is so unlike anything I've ever experienced.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Bone Season?

At first I was a bit confused as the story jumped to full speed with very little pretense but as the story unfolds all the background comes into focus. Setting a rich and colorful setting for the story.

    Any additional comments?

I look forward to reading this book again just before the next book comes out!

  • A Prayer for Owen Meany

Of all of John Irving's books, this is the one that lends itself best to audio. In print, Owen Meany's dialogue is set in capital letters; for this production, Irving himself selected Joe Barrett to deliver Meany's difficult voice as intended. In the summer of 1953, two 11-year-old boys – best friends – are playing in a Little League baseball game in Gravesend, New Hampshire. One of the boys hits a foul ball that kills the other boy's mother. The boy who hits the ball doesn't believe in accidents; Owen Meany believes he is God's instrument. What happens to Owen after that 1953 foul ball is extraordinary and terrifying.

    "I love this book!"
    Overall

I have listened to this book 4 times over the years and I still love it. I have all of Dan Brown's titles in my library and this one is the best. This book is very fast paced and exciting. I love Richard Poe, he does this book justice. This is a very good listen. For those who claim that this book is damaging and disparaging to Christianity I whole heartily disagree. I felt that the Camerlengo's speech to the College of Cardinals personified and reaffirmed my own personal views about religion. However if your narrow minded and so insecure in your personal beliefs that your easily offended by the opinions of others choose something else. I have 154 books in my audible library currently and this one remains one of my favorites!

Why we think it’s a great listen: The most celebrated performance in all of Audible’s history, The Help has nearly 2,000 5-star reviews from your fellow listeners. We hear the print book’s not bad, either. In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women - mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends - view one another.

With more than two hundred titles in my library I found this book refreshingly original and heart moving. For weeks since finishing the book I have continued to think about it. So if your thinking about getting this book I can tell you its worth it.
