This is a good story with multiple plots. Lots going on. The narrator did the many voices well and held them throughout the story. Warm and fuzzy ending. Just what I needed.
This book was fun, enthusiastic and an easy listen. Really enjoyed the narrator. She brings the characters to life. I was looking for something to make me feel Christmassy and this did the trick, though it was not over done.
Didn't realize that this was a series. Think I will go back and start with book one.
Enjoyed both the book and the performance. Good reader, will look for other books she has read. The twists and turns make it interesting.
This book is well written and well preformed. The story is solid (sad, heartrending and heart-warming). Well worth the read.
Alan Cumming's performance was amazing. What a voice.
The story was excellent. Hartley and Hewson fleshed out the story and added some interesting twists. The perspective of the Macbeth's was also interesting.
I had decided to read one "classic" a month and chose Macbeth thinking it would be tedious. What a pleasant surprise. This was a good listen.
In the beginning I was irritated by the story (lack of Claire, Jamie et al.) and really missed Davina Porter but once into it I enjoyed the new characters as well as the links back to Claire and family. I got use to the narration and actually started to enjoy it. The accents are off though.
I would recommend this book and will check out other Lord John books to listen to.
