Three tales from The Canterbury Tales, read in the original Middle English by Richard Bebb under the direction of Britain's foremost Chaucer scholar, Derek Brewer.

Because I am not versed in speaking Middle English, the book was total gibberish to me since it was read in Middle English. I doubt that anyone outside of acedeme could comprehend what was being said. Sorry I didn't know. Sorry I wasted a credit.

  • Until I Find You: Volume 1

When he is four-years-old, Jack travels with his mother Alice, a tattoo artist, to several North Sea ports; they are trying to find Jack's missing father, William, a church organist who is addicted to being tattooed. But Alice is a mystery, and William can't be found. Even Jack's memories are subject to doubt.

John says: "no passion, but narration is superb"
    "The Undisturbable Disturbed"
    Overall

The characters in this book seem to sleepwalk their way through trauma after trauma with a cavalier lack of surprise. Though Jack is sexually molested for most of his young life his reaction is more like that of Curious George than a victim. His mother Alice, is as accepting of her own kinky sex as she if Jack's. Jack is yanked around to the four corners of the earth looking for a deadbeat dad but there is no suspense in the search. By the end of the first volume I was worn out with tatoo parlors, boring clients and any sense of moral turpetude anywhere. I found my self not caring if Jack never found his father. That would not have been a surprise either. I skipped volume two.
