A teen idol at 15, an international icon and founder of the Brat Pack at 20, and one of Hollywood's top stars to this day, Rob Lowe chronicles his experiences. Never mean-spirited or salacious, Lowe delivers unexpected glimpses into his successes, disappointments, relationships, and one-of-a-kind encounters with people who shaped our world over the last 25 years. These stories are as entertaining as they are unforgettable.

    N. Belle says: "Great Book and Great Story"
    "Tell me MORE stories!!!!!"
    Overall

Well, I wasn't at all sure I'd like this. Rob Lowe is of my generation, but I had never thought much of him one way or another. I saw him in many 80's movies and remember the "Brat Pack". I don't watch "West Wing". But then I started watching him on Parks and Recreation. What a hoot! So I listened to his book. I cannot recommend it highly enough. I have told family and friends about it. I do believe you are doing a terrible disservice to yourself if you only read the book though. The audiobook is unsurpassed. His gift of mimicry is wonderful. I loved hearing stories of making movies....movies that I loved as a young adult. The people that he crossed paths with is something I found VERY interesting.
I also admire him for the love he has for his wife and sons. Listen to this one...do not pass it up. You will NOT regret it.

When Princess Diana died in Paris's Alma tunnel, she was 37 years old. Had she lived, she would turn 50 on July 1, 2011. Who would the beloved icon be if she were alive today? What would she be doing? And where? One of the most versatile and bold writers of our time, Monica Ali has imagined a different fate for Diana in her spectacular new novel, Untold Story.

    "I wanted to love it......."
    Overall

I really, really wanted to love this book. I was so excited about it. I purchased it rather than wait for my next credits to become available because I was going on vacation. I thought it would make great airplane/leisurely listening time. It was all just OK. The other characters, the American friends, are as someone else said "cliched". The narrators are OK. Not the best, not the worst. I think it ended in a way that another book is possible. Maybe that one will be a bit more..... lively....is that the word I'm looking for? Did I mention it is just OK?

History has not been kind to Alice Perrers, the notorious mistress of King Edward III. Scholars and contemporaries alike have deemed her a manipulative woman who used her great beauty and sensuality to take advantage of an aging and increasingly senile king. But who was the woman behind the scandal? A cold-hearted opportunist - or someone fighting for her very survival?

    Annette says: "guilty as charged."
    "Good Story"
    Overall

I loved this book. I like when an author takes historical fact (as well as people) and can write a good story around it (think Philippa Gregory novels). There really was a Alice Perrers and it was believed she was the King's mistress. It kept my interest, the narration was superb, the story compelling. I highly recommend this one!

"I believe there is another man inside every man, a stranger...." writes Wilfred Leland James in the early pages of the riveting confession that makes up "1922", the first in this pitch-black quartet of mesmerizing tales from Stephen King. For James, that stranger is awakened when his wife, Arlette, proposes selling off the family homestead and moving to Omaha, setting in motion a gruesome train of murder and madness.

    Parusski says: "Eerie, honest, frightening!"
"Back to the old Stephen King"
    Overall

I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed this book. I have loved Stephen King's books for many years. I do feel that there was a period of time that his books just did not hold my interest any longer. This book made me feel like he was back to his old writings. Any King fan of the early stuff will like this one.

Mark says: "Great End to a Great Series"
    "I enjoyed this series"
    Overall

I typically do not enjoy books that are a long series (more than 3 or 4 books). I tend to become bored with them and feel that the story drags on entirely too much. When I began Dean Koontz's "Frankenstein" series, I thought it would be only 3 books max. There are 5. However, being a long time reader of his, I found that this was indeed one of his best. I liked the characters, especially Erica 5 and Jacko. The narrator was excellent. The story held my interest. I would highly recommend this book and this series to anyone who is a fan of Dean Koontz.
