"Maybe the best book I have ever listened to"
I read the reviews of other and decided to buy this book. One of the best things I have ever done. The book itself is great but the narrator adds another dimension. I was really sorry when it was over. Now looking for another listen but after Shantaram, nothing seems as compelling.
"Needs another narrator"
I like to read series in order so no matter what I was going to buy this. But I was not happy.
I don't like him like I don't like Dick Hill. Other people do, Its a matter of taste. Why the switch from David Chandler. I don't understand why the publishing company decides that in a series there should be different narrators. Maybe they don't listen to books so they don't get it. You get used to the way characters are read and the change is painful.
No
"It's hard to get past a narrator"
I'm not sure that I can really comment on the book. I can't get past the reader. Bought Lullaby Town so that I could listen to all of the series but the narrator sounds so much like Dick Hill. I just finished returning all the books I have bought narrated by him as his narration grates on me. Don't know if I will get through this one. I have to read it instead.
Not sounding like Dick Hill.
There is a follow up book read by the same man. I have already bought it but may have to return. I usually listen to a book straight through. I am having trouble listening for more than 30 minutes.
"I have waited for a long time for this book"
This may be one of my favorite books of all time. Been asking Audible for it for years. I would highly recommend The Handmaid's Tale to everyone who loves books. So well written.
The writing. The writing. The narration. The narration.
I can't find anything else she has read. Would listen to anything that she has though. Just told a friend that she is one of best narrators I have heard.
Probably Of Fred. And I don't really know why. I found her so multidimensional that it would be interesting to ask her questions.
"YIKES"
It was fine in the beginning but the more Christian proselytizing the worse it was. Wish it was in another category so that I didn't waste my credit.
Do not know. But I do know that I will not look at the number of stars. I WILL read the reviews. I would have been tipped off and saved the time and money.
"The narrator is terrible"
Don't really know about the book. Could not get past the narrator.
She sounded like she should be reading to children.
Please give me my credit back. I could only get through five minutes. Should have listened to sample.
"a waste of a credit"
I was hoping that this would be great. Michael Crichton's last book and all. I read all the reviews and thought what the hell. I cannot finish this drivel.
no
they are all pretty bad
"expected more"
a better story line. i need to connect with a least one character when i read a book. it was impossible with this book.
don't know
the whole book was a failure
"Ok but was expecting more about SEAL activities"
I was hoping that this book would really explain what it was to be a SEAL. Wasn't really interested in his personal life. May be the right book for someone else, especially a Christian who won't mind the "life lesson" in the second half.
