"Buy the book!"
I love this series and have enjoyed all the books! This is horrible! They switched narrator and publisher! It just isn't right and the weird music going in and out made it worse! I didn't finish this and bought the book! I will finish the series w Audio as when I looked foward this is the only book that was switched!
"OUTSTANDING!"
I enjoyed this book from the beginning to the end! It is wonderfully written and beautifully narrated! I enjoyed all the characters and details in which each was given life in my mind as I listened. The details of locations and settings was exquisite. The language alone and the vocabulary made me feel as though I was reading a classic. While this tale has witches, demons and vampires it offers so much more. It is NOT your action packed typical Vampire fiction read (Anita Blake) it has a classic style all of its own. I have listened to it twice now and I am sure I listen again when the 3rd installment is released! ALSO...I LOVE the house! ;) wink
"Another Favorite!"
This just might have been my personal favorite so far! I loved this book. It went so fast I can't believe it is over already! I am enjoying this entire series and I am currently downloading the next installment!
"Loved it!"
Despite the fact that there is a different narrator for this single book it didn't distract! I enjoyed it as much as the others. I loved the story!
"Still enjoying this series!!"
I have been listening to all the books in order back to back and haven't been disappointed. The characters are growing and the story continues to keep me interested. I do recommend you begin with book one and listen in order. See previous review for reference genre.
"Great Series!"
I have honestly enjoyed all the of the books in the series so far. Perhaps it is a sleeper and not many listeners have given it a chance in the audio world based on the lack of reviews. I enjoyed the narration and the story line. While you can't compare books to each other and expect everyone to agree I can honestly say this series fits very nicely next to Anita Blake,Meredith Gentry,Jane Yellow Rock, Charley Davidson,Mercy Thompson. If you enjoy a series and a strong female lead you won't be disappointed.
"Undecided yet not Unhappy!"
Hmmm I CAN NOT believe I listened to this book!!! I also can't believe I liked it....maybe! This definitely not my typical read, but it does grow on you. The main character is like Cher from "Clueless" (The Movie) as a newly risen whiny vampire. There is plenty of girlish humor and one liners and just enough of a story beyond that to make it a decent book. I can't decide if I want to move on in the series or not. I have noticed that some of the future books are VERY short (under 5 hours) and that is a huge deal for me and my valuable credits. I think it depends on who you are and what you enjoy reading as to whether you will enjoy this listen. Read the reviews and listen to the sample. For me...maybe one more listen to decide on the series as a whole!
"Enjoyable"
I love the narration, I recognize her from Mercy Thompson books! Another awesome job w a great female lead! While I am not so sure about the "Grim Reaper" as my paranormal fiction favorite species... Charlie's wit and sarcasm helped me enjoy this book! In the end I gave it a 4 star for story and plan to move on to the next book. Just a touch of romance with a splash of mystery and a lot of character! In comparison to other paranormal series it is hard but I would have to say a touch of " The Holows" (very different species) and a tad of Jane Yellowrock...mostly in regards to strong female lead with an attitude and humor!
"A favorite read for 1023"
What a wonderful book! Brilliant yet terrifying, and not so far fetched as I first imagined! It really brings the things we take fro granted to the surface for us to rediscover and appreciate. It hits very close to home for me as a woman, mother and wife. This is an older book..1986 I believe, remastered for audio. I find the fact that it is an older book even more creepy as some things seem almost preminiscent. The narration is wonderful. I highly recommend this book.
"An exquisite tale"
This is an endearing and beautiful tale of mystery and love. How far is too far to go for unrequited love? Lanny knows...I love the details in this book and felt as if i was there watching the story unfold. This is not my typical action packed vampire read and it is also not a simple romance. There is just enough intrigue for the paranormal mind and fiction readers in my opinion to be not an average read. I know I will listen again and complete the trilogy.
"Great Series..."
I wasn't sure about this book series...the plot, the cover photo had be scared to use the credit. It was worth it. I have enjoyed all the books in the series even this one. However, while the narration isn't bad it also isn't Merit! Why do they do this...? Hours into a listening experience and they change a vital part of the experience? As with most books written in a series I wouldn't recommend this as a stand alone book and it is not the best book in the series.Felt more like a filler book with the added distraction of a new narrator. Personally I am still debating on if I will listen to any future books... guess it depends on the narrator and reviews by the fans.
