I thought I would be enthralled in the world or the Amish, but it didn't provide the detail and engulfment I was hoping for. An interesting story, but not one that hooks you in. Take it or leave it
Either Storm of Swords or the last Sookie Stackhouse book.
The narrator was decent, but the voices were not capturing
yes, I feel I missed many details a the begining while I was getting to know each character. I always like re reading a good book, it is amazing how much more you can pick up on.
the complex and interweaving characters
no, first time, but excellent narration
yes, but far to long!
Right near the top! The characters are real and full of depth, the story enthralls you. Most excellent narrations! Top marks
the dire wolves give me goosebumps! Especially the connection between them and the Stark children
I am currently listening to the 2nd book in Game of Thrones. The voices remain true and his variety is incredable!
When Eddard Stark was killed. Such empathy for Aria watching....
First off, the narrator in this book was HORRIBLE. She sounded like a whining little valley girl and the character voices were atrocious. Not believable at all and didn't ring true to the characters in the book.
Perhaps with a different narrator
Was there anything to like? She made the sex scenes even sound uninteresting. No build up, no anticipation.
The story has a little intrigue, but needs more depth
Absolutely! Anyone who enjoys a complex and lengthy story will love this book. The characters are full and believable and the story is wonderful. A true classic
Obviously Scarlett, a woman with strenght, determination and the occasional weakness.
The BBQ at the beginning before the war. You can just picture the elegance and gaiety of life before the war.
To me Mammy stands out as truly unique character.
