"She's Yelling at Where You Could or Will Be"
It's hard listening to her. Her voice never changes pitch, she yells at you the WHOLE TIME! She basically says she cares, believes in you and that you need to believe in yourself and be focused over and over and over and... OVER. I don't need her to motivate me, I want recipes, real tips, thoughts and feedback about training daily. Stuff I could of got for free off bodybuilding dot com, but thought would be good to listen to in a book. I'm glad she loves her job but she is a bit negative and condescending despite saying shes not.
Overall this is a hard, hard book to listen to. I love turning the volume up normally but had to literally take it down to half way because she is all but drill sergeant yelling into my ears. She barely breathes between words. She has a great body and I'm not quite done with the book yet but a hour in and I'm already tempted to just return this book. I'm "super" sick of her saying super fitness model program over and over.
I guess I've never been into these books before and have yet to find one that is interesting.
"The book in the series about family & Adventure"
It's one of my favorites.
Its a fantasy adventure: Twilight set back in time?
She is a fantastic reader. I love the way she narrates voices (more more detail on this read my review of the first book) but needless to say the way she pulls her own and remains unified in the tones. You really get into the adventure and differentiate the characters!
Shes falling for the baby finally. Learning of her nature and discovering who her true friends are. This book moves you past the getting to know you stage and settles you into the series. At this point you know the characters and move into some action. It feels like a real family feud at points. Very 50 shades of gray meets Twilight but with more modesty set back a century add in a steam punk feel of decor and that is the Alexia series.
Love it. Is that enough? Well probably not to sell books but I suppose its enough to get my sentiments across. One thing I will say is I wish Audible would always put what number the book is in a series in the title. Would make them easier to sort.
"What a tale of history, fantasy and adventure"
I'm not much for rewatching movies or rereading books. We shall see but if I did this would be a good one to revisit.
I've enjoyed this entire series. I'm on the last two books now which is why I'm revisiting the review section to give it due. These books have been very entertaining.
I've loved these books and listening to the Miss Terriboti grow up into a women of measures. She is beyond interesting as a character. I'm so happy Emily Gray remained the reader for all the books. You really get into the book through the reader and she gives each character their own voice and emotion. The way she pitches the doctors voices in later books with enthusiasm or gives Ivy her snuffy airless ring. The adventures really come to life. I've even googled meany of the era's mentioned happenings like the dirigible travel to learn more and found a steam punk group in my city.
If my former comments where not enough I'd just like to reiterate how much I've enjoyed these books and hopes the author continues with them. They would make for very interesting movies, although the producers would probably never do it justice. The warewolves, phantoms, souless and vampires all become loveable characters. This book is not a drama but an adventure full of mystery, wonder and excitement. This is the book in the series that gets you to fall in love, as Miss Terriboty would.
"The book that got me addicted"
It's one of the best mystery/fantasy books I've listened to this year.
Jason but I came to love his girl friend as well.
He is an excellent reader
yes
Do you love series? If so, this book will get you caught- hook, line and sinker. I couldn't stop until I'd devoured every ounce of this series and the next. Get ready for 10 books that will keep you wanting more.
"Unlike the rest of the series... Not the next book"
Yes, absolutely just not one like this. This isn't like the normal 1st person book. It reads like a mixed diary on the ledge of being close to the other story. It's not as interesting, powerful or adventurous. It gives you insights to the characters though but the narrator jump isn't nearly as smooth. It's confusing and the book seems to jump around a lot.
Write the book as a follow up story or adventure the same way the other books are written. This one seems like a hodge podge throw together of scenes cut out from the other books.
It just doesn't have a familiar feel to the other books. I didn't enjoy it. It didn't grab me the same way the other two did.
The adventures jump around too much and doesn't really get you into the characters as quickly. He starts drawing you into stories and then jumps to another like a short story reading. The narrators are also very important to an audio book. Jumping back and forth vs. using them all together makes it hard to connect to the book plus I'd just gotten used to the last narrator of the other books. I belive he was the same narrator who reads the nymph section with leo. Having new narrators start the book also makes it hard to connect.
"One heck of an addictive adventure!"
It's in the top few over the past few months. Every last minute of it has been addictive. I chose this book for its fantasy genre and length originally. I continued onto the second book in the series (this one) because the first one was so fantastic. Now I'm going to have to just keep going. I adore this series. It's had me enthralled with interest, adventure and upbeat spirits. The reader of the book can do all kinds of voices which make you really feel like you are listening to and befriending each character one at a time, which is good because this book has as many characters as your real life has day-to-day friends. Every moment I can't wait to hear what is happening next, makes me wish the books where longer. Even better is that this book mixes fantasy with mystical and religious history. So you are literally getting to old world religion, history and war tactics step by step as the book moves forward. You can hear and imagine seeing, tasting and smelling what the monsters and Gods would have been like. If I haven't convinced you, I don't know what will. If you love fantasy adventure like lord of the rings or love stories like fifty shades of gray or history fantasy like the Michael Scott series or the adventures of Terry Goodkind in the Wizards first rule then this book is for you (obviously start with book one)

yes if I could.. and I tried
This is a must read .. I mean listen.
"Educational book"
I enjoyed Fresh Air as an education about how people judge each other and use facial expressions.
Don't know
This would have a hard time being a film, unless it was a documentary but I'd tag it Research on human expressions.
"This book caught me & kept me interested"
This book kept me interested all the way to the end. The story has a terrible ending and probably deserves a follow up book. It is just cut off. The book however is imaginative and held my attention and made me want to keep going.
Very imaginative. Loved it.
no
its a book of love and betrayal
"Captivating Fantasy"
I loved the tv series and this is just as good with a few additional things the tv series doesnt show you. It even got me to watch some of the episodes again.
