Would you listen to Slade again? Why?

Absolutely. Love the series. Nothing like well built, good looking, protective, alpha males to make you tingle. This is also a very well written series in that all the main characters are woven into each book so you don't loose track of what's happening.

What did you like best about this story?

Slade's tenacity. The entire storyline is good.

What does Tavia Gilbert bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I think she was perfect for this series. I typically like a good male narrator, but Ms. Gilbert always does a great job.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Yes

    Any additional comments?

Would like to see more of this series.

For journalist Dylan Alexander, it began with the discovery of a hidden tomb, thrusting her into the center of a gathering storm of violence and secrets. But nothing is as dangerous as the scarred, lethally seductive man who rises from the shadows to draw her into his world of dark desire and endless night. Fueled by pain and rage over a shattering betrayal, the warrior Rio has pledged his life to the war against the Rogues.

Book 4, in my estimation, is the best in the series. Don't get me wrong, I love them all, but I have been looking forward to Rio's story since his ordeal in warehouse explosion and the betrayal of his breed mate, Eva.

God bless Dylan for her persistence.

Lara Adrian has an amazing ability to create the world the Breeds live and wage war in and now we get to hear where they came from and an up close and personal look at "papa & grandpa breed". Whew !

Where does Midnight Awakening  rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Right up there at the top. I have really liked this series. I think L.A. has an immense imagination and creativity to have built the world not only where the Breeds live and wage war, but the world from which they came.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Midnight Awakening ?

The entire book/series is memorable and I find myself recommending it to others, which is something I typically do not do.

    Which scene was your favorite?

    Can't tell without spoiling.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did not cry, did laugh a little, but mostly sat on the edge of my seat in anticipation of what was going to happen next.

Damien Stark’s need is palpable - his need for pleasure, his need for control, his need for me. Beautiful and brilliant yet tortured at his core, he is in every way my match. I have agreed to be his alone, and now I want him to be fully mine. I want us to possess each other beyond the sweetest edge of our ecstasy, into the deepest desires of our souls. To let the fire that burns between us consume us both. But there are dark places within Damien that not even our wildest passion can touch. I yearn to know his secrets, yearn for him to surrender to me as I have surrendered to him. But our troubled pasts will either bind us close...or shatter us completely.

What did you like about this audiobook?

It's difficult to write a review about this book. I listened to it quite awhile ago and have put off writing the review until I listened to the next in the series hoping it would better help me to describe how I feel about it. The characters were amazing, the storyline really good, lots of steam and sensuality but also a lot of angst. That said, I have to state that J.Kenner is an amazing writer and describes feeling, emotions and circumstances so that it kept me intrigued and mesmerized.

How has the book increased your interest in the subject matter?

    Not sure

Does the author present information in a way that is interesting and insightful, and if so, how does he achieve this?

Yes, J.K. presents the information well; I got to know the characters in this first book and got to ride along with their emotions. I like that in a book, in fact, for me it is necessary to get emotionally involved, otherwise I get bored. Also, from start to finish this book was a great listen.

What did you find wrong about the narrator's performance?

Her male voices could have been better and more inflection during times of passion, anger, etc. but was not bad enough to make me not want to listen. There have been narrators who have completely destroyed my desire to complete a really good book; this was not the case. I do hope she gets better with time.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. Book 2 is almost better than Book 1. Lynda Aicher has a way of portraying the emotions, the inner turmoil women and men, too, have within them when their lives have been damaged; when their inner psyche has been torn apart.

What other book might you compare Bonds of Need to and why?

    Bonds of Trust, Book 1.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Her male voices could have been a lot better; they really didn't sound like men. The male voices also had no inflection; were not sultry; not husky; sounded the same all the time except once in awhile when voices were raised; nothing different even when in the throws of passion or when at the "Den" or during a scene.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes. There are several. Don't want to give anything away; listen & you'll find out. I laughed, a little, and cried and clinched and tingled.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Yes. I almost gave up within the first couple of chapters but decided to hang in to see what the hype was about (both good and bad). Even though I was disappointed in a few aspects I thought the storyline was unique and wanted to find out more.

Would you be willing to try another book from Anna Zaires? Why or why not?

I would be willing to try the second installment of this series written by Ms. AZ only to find out if it gets better after the first book.

What three words best describe Kathleen Godwin’s voice?

    Voices all same.

Did Close Liaisons inspire you to do anything?

    Nope

    Any additional comments?

I felt that Ms. Godwin was sincerely trying hard to do a good job with the voices but just fell really short especially those times when, I'm sure, Korum was speaking in a sexy, smoky voice and when there was any other exclamations or inflections needed.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Yes. I have always enjoyed listening to Maya Banks' books. I discovered her about two years ago and have listened to everything Audible has offered since then. However, it was obvious this was one of her earlier books. Her writing, characterizations, and emotions have come so far since 2008 when this book was written. Don't get me wrong - I liked this one; loved the differences in the three men, but the book was predictable and lacked, at least for me, the substance her later books have.

Would you be willing to try another book from Maya Banks? Why or why not?

    Absolutely, and have.

What does Adam Paul bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I believe Adam Paul's narration of Ms. Banks' books has gotten better and better with each book he narrates. At first it was difficult to get used to the difference between he and Harry Berkley, but, like I said, I think he gets better and better.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

    Not sure.

    Any additional comments?

Maya Banks will always be in the top five authors for me and most of the time #1. I have difficulty waiting for Audible to present us with new audio versions of her books, in fact, because I have listened to everything they have offered, I consistently go to other audio websites to see if anything new or different is offered.

So, Audible, step up your game and get some of the older books while awaiting Ms. Banks' new ones.

If you could sum up Down London Road in three words, what would they be?

    Anguishing, suspenseful, romantic

What was one of the most memorable moments of Down London Road?

So as to not disclose any secrets; Cam's anguish and confession to Jo after Blair's overnight visit and also the ending.

Have you listened to any of Elle Newlands’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, "On Dublin Street", she is amazing. I love the accents and Cam's voice was sexy and sultry and oh so heart-gripping when anguished.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    Not Sure

    Any additional comments?

This was an amazing listen. I laughed, cried, screamed in my head "No - No", emotions stirred deep within me and I sat on the edge of my seat. There were twists and turns that kept things interesting.

I hope that Ms. Young continues to grace us with such emotional prose. Also, one can not help but feel bad for Malcolm, hope he is written, happily, into future books.

What did you like about this audiobook?

I loved that the adventure, the getting to know each other, the relationship and love was so simple, yet so emotional and mesmerizing. This was an amazing tale of two people who only wanted the unpretentious out of life, both searching for something neither knew and finding each other in the process. Makes one believe in fate, both wonderful and not so inviting, but fate nonetheless.

How has the book increased your interest in the subject matter?

When Andrew showed Cam his tattoo of Orpheus and Eurydice and explained why the tattoo wasn't finished.

What did you find wrong about the narrator's performance?

It took awhile to get used to her narration, but after awhile it got better.

Do you have any additional comments?

This was by far the best romance book I have ever listened to or read. Any story that can make me bawl or make me laugh out loud and still have the elements of romance such as softness, sexual pleasure, and adventure is outstanding. This book had it all for me. J.A. Redmerski, this is my first book of yours; I will try others after I recover from my extreme emotional state. Thank you both, author and narrator.

Would you try another book from Lori Foster and/or Jim Frangione?

Yes. I've listened to other LF books and JF's narration. It took me awhile to get used to JF and he got better & better with each narration, however, both LF & JF were quite disappointing this time. The story was somewhat mundane and predictable and the narration was more of a "reading" than a narration. There were no differences in the voices and inflections were off. Really sad this time. I was so looking forward to this one.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Not much excitement or interest. The least interesting thing was the fact that the entire story was a little boring.

Did Jim Frangione do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

    No.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

    Better narration.

If you could sum up Wicked Cravings in three words, what would they be?

I liked that there was continued interaction amongst all of the characters. I liked that the first book moved seamlessly into this one. I also liked that there was a lot of emotion, hot steamy explicit sex and there were stories within the stories, but all came together in the end.

What other book might you compare Wicked Cravings to and why?

I am very much interested in this author and her version of "Shifters". I am anxiously awaiting the next book.

    Which scene was your favorite?

Yes. The author explains the difference between straight human and human shifters such that it is plausible as well as a different spin than I've read before. I like Suzanne Wright's spin.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Nothing. I think she did an excellent job. The male voices, especially Dante's was great. All of the different tenors of Dante's voice depicting anger, dominance, grief/sadness, lust, even his laugh she did a great job with. The different female voices were also done superbly.
