The Dune series is an old favorite. I have read them many times, but never had them read to me. What a delight.
I think it was the final attack on Leto. His pain and fore knowledge. Maybe even relief.
Duncan in all his incarnations, is my favorite.
Even God Worms get the blues.
Listen to all of the Dune books. Their are 6 books before the book Dune. It is great to have all the background before the Rise of Paul.
The author has a sense of humor. King and Maxwell are a fun couple of character to meet. This is the their first meeting and the book just takes off. I really hate spoilers, but the twists keep coming and coming. A fun read, and it made the miles just go away.
This is a great book. I read all the Mist Born Series. I was looking for something similar. This is written with Sam Spade like characters. The story should tickle Graphic Novel fans with its pace and wild colorful characters. Revisionist history has lots of dirigibles and alt history twists. Sci fic and fantasy fans have magic, elemental physical powers and super-weapons.
The Alloy of Law: A Mistborn Novel
by Brandon Sanderson
His reading is lively and with his accents you a mental picture of the characters.
This was a fun book. I spent a lot of time laughing.. Even though the book has a lot of fighting, it is more about the characters finding out who they are than just violence.
This is not my usual type of book. The story of young girl sold into servitude similar to a geisha. Add the backdrop a a society rife with ambitious Counts, Marquis, of various sexes and appetites. Good story but the sex is bdsm and other alt lifestyle. The children are raised to be spies.
This book is geared to the erotic taste. I fast forwarded though a lot of the sex scenes. They were just to rough for my taste.
Phedre was done very well. She is the main character.
Whether you are a conspiracy theorist or the lover of a good twisted suspense novel you will love this. I am not given to spoilers so you will have to read or listen to the story to find out what happens. I will say that it's thought provoking in that it warns us that our greatest enemies are often within our own society's borders.
Dox is the winner.
I have read many of Barry Eisler's books. They have become more thoughtful. The action is good and the characters are full. Maybe a touch less violence but only compared to the rest of the "Rain" series. I really like them all.
Probably the best Stephen King book I have listened to. It is the best book since Dead Zone and the Stand. Original witty, spooky and just wow.
The new world that was wrought from his action. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
