This riveting, true account of the 1929 race to build New York City's tallest skyscraper evokes the glory of an exciting time long past.

Celia says: "Riveting (excuse the pun)!!"
    "Reads like a Novel"
    Overall

Very well narrated story. You get to know history of the players involved as they compete to build the tallest building. Lots of history about the era and those that were part of it. Great to listen to and easy to follow. I really enjoyed this book and how the story was told.

Lauren Stillwell isn't your average damsel in distress. When the NYPD cop discovers her husband leaving a hotel with another woman, she decides to beat him at his own game. But her revenge goes dangerously awry, and she finds her world spiraling into a hell that becomes more terrifying by the hour.

    Sarah says: "Implausible plot"
    "Patterson at his best!"
    Overall

Great story, very well read and easy to follow. Not a huge surprise in the end, but the lead up to the finally was fun and kept my on my toes. Great development of the plot as the book continued. This is one book I could not wait to get to ending.

In his tantalizing debut novel, Paradise Salvage, at once a taut thriller and a lyrical coming-of-age story, John Fusco marvelously traces the unforgettable trajectory of 12-year-old Nunzio Paradiso's last summer of innocence.

Pamela says: "Who thought junk could be so endearing?!"
    "Well Read!"
    Overall

Very engaging story. The characters just come to life as the book is read and you feel as though you are there with them! I wish there was a follow up book so I could continue to experience the family's life and adventures.
