Dana Dillinger had been R.J. Maitland's right hand for years - loyal, dependable, and hopelessly, secretly, in love with him. So when he popped the question to prove he wasn't the playboy the press labeled him, she accepted his "proposal". But where R.J. envisioned a marriage in name only, Dana refused to settle for anything less than his heart....

This was my first Stephanie Bond book & it was a kick. I enjoyed the interaction between the three brothers, how they each had their own place in their family & town.

We only got to know a few of the women in this book & I'm looking forward to more interaction with them in the next two books.

All in all I would say this is an enjoyable, funny, light read.

    Narration was good.

If you are interested the author has a prequel to this book for free on her web site.

Wedding bells are ringing in Fool’s Gold, but not for Nevada Hendrix. Her triplet sisters are engaged, and even her mother has a more active love life than she does. Determined to make a fresh start, she applies for her dream job, only to discover that her new boss is her first love. Maybe she could overlook the fact that they’ve seen each other naked, but she’ll never forget the way he broke her heart. Tucker Janack agrees to Nevada’s “business only” ground rules. After all, love is a trap that the construction millionaire has avoided his whole life.

Another very enjoyable book by Susan Mallery ! Susan has a way of making the characters in her books come to life as if they could be your neighbor.

This time around it is Nevada's turn & she is just as spunky as ever. As an added surprise on this visit to Fools Gold we have two other couples come together.

The narrator does a good job.

Gabriel Callahan has lost everything that mattered. All he wants is solitude on an isolated mountain estate. Instead, he gets a neighbor. Vibrant, no-nonsense Nic Sullivan is Eternity Springs’ veterinarian, and she has an uncanny plan to lure this talented architect back to the world of the living. First with a dog, next with a renovation project, and, finally, with a night of passion that ends with a surprise.

This was my first Emily March book & I listened to it straight through last night. It was recommended by a friend as being along the same line as the Virgin River series by Robyn Carr which I love. I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised & am currently downloading the next book in the series ...

That being said this is not a light read it is very dramatic & emotional ... these are two damaged people caught by surprise trying to do the best that they can.

I was not crazy about the narrator, to me she seemed a bit flat.
