I am a dog person, not a cat person, so that was easy. But I had a bit of trouble keeping going through a couple parts as they closely reflected things that are happening with my dog. But how they were done was good and eventually not as painful as I thought they would be. On the whole, I loved the entire book. The dog's perspective was well done. The book gave me something to think about as to how to live my life. Good narrator. I'll be reading it again.

Oh yes. Characters are well developed, so is the plot.

Katniss, of course. But I like all of them. Katniss because she isn't pretentious. She's just trying to get through the day.

I liked them all. But I particularly liked Rue and Prim. She was very good at showing their vulnerability.

Yes! As I've stated in another review, it's a good thing I'm retired otherwise I would have had to call in sick. I couldn't put it down.

Looking forward to the rest of the series. I've decided to read them before seeing the movies as so much has to be left out of a 2 hour story.

Of course. But then my eyes have to work too hard now to read books, so audio books are my only choice. But although I no longer have a choice, if I did, audio books would be my choice. I am not an actor/voiceover artist. I have "re-read" books by listening to them and find that I get so much more out of them with the audio book. Much easier to understand plots, motivations, etc. When I read, I am "monochromatic" and the only character. With an audio book, the world opens up with every color and all different characters. I've found that with books I read earlier and did not enjoy reading, my opinion has changed after listening to it. I now enjoy the book and it's wonderful!

The books by Orson Scott Card.

He has Harry Dresden down pat: down and out sometimes, loser sometimes, a guy just trying to do right. Although I know him from TV, I haven't heard any of his other book performances. I would definitely listen to him again.

Although it didn't make me cry, it did make me laugh. The book refused to be put down. Good thing I'm retired, otherwise I would have had to call in sick to finish it.

I had watched the TV series on The Dresden Files, but the books are so much better.

I'll be getting the rest of the series. Can't get enough of Wizard Harry Dresden!

The story seemed forced and coincidences used to make things fit.

The story seemed unrealistic. Something I didn't find with the other two stories of his that I have read. At no time could I say, "Yes! That could have happened." I need to believe a story and he didn't let me do that.

I enjoyed his other two books. There is a fourth one out now. I'll give him one more try.

Disappointment, frustration, anger.

This book was definitely not worth the money. Most of it cannot be understood. The recording is very poor. It sounds like it was recorded in a cavern. Add the spooky music in the background and only half of it can be understood. (Who decided to put a song with words over a speaker??)Hugh Montgomery may be a great academic, but he is a thoroughly lousy reader. I might have given this more stars if he had stayed out of it and had a reader perform it.I liked the facts that I could understand on this recording. But everything else was worse than useless. The stupid music that I think is only there to take up time, needs to be deleted. It's not nice that I'm paying for a 68 minutes of book and almost half of it is JUST music (and bad music at that). If I could, I'd get my money back from Audible.Like someone else mentioned on here, there were no reviews when I purchased it. I might not do that again.

This book about the theft of the Mona Lisa would be better read (as opposed to heard). Although the reader has a pleasant tone, her pace is sooooooooooooo sloooooooooooooow. This 6 hour 44 minute book would probably just be a 3 hour book if read by someone else. Her pace makes me feel like an idiot who needs to be spoken to slowly and clearly, so it's coming off a bit insulting. I've put the book aside for now. Don't know if I'll go back. Maybe there's an Audible Cliff Notes copy?
