"Like sitting with my grandma listing to the radio"
Growing up in the TV era made me wonder what it would be like to sit and "watch" the radio. This made me feel like I was right there doing that.
"Unrealistic"
I am a fan of Glenn Beck TV, but the plot of this book seemed unrealistic to me. I think that was his intention. I believe he thinks that if he makes far enough out of our realistic possibilities that something more mild that we previously would have thought was not possible, but only just so, becomes possible. I am not really a judge of political thrillers, but the plot in this book seemed too much of a stretch for me to really enjoy.
"Captivating telling of history."
This is a a very captivating and moving story and left me wanting more. I have never studied the American battle for independence before, but this book really made me want to.
"Wonderful book, poor voice for Margeret"
The book itself is very good. The narration, however is poor for the main character, Margaret. All of the other narration is good. He does a good job imitating different English accents.
"Understandable, funny, and poignat poems."
Billy Collins proves that poetry can really be enjoyable. The is one audible selection that I have listened to over and over and and still look forward to the next time.
"Excellent reading of an Excellent book"
The reader, first of all, was wonderful. He provided realistic voices to the characters including the women (which many male readers get wrong).
The book was fascinating. A wonderfully complete biography of Churchill. I gained a very good understanding of Churchill's strengths and weaknesses without distracting from his incredible role in history.
"Great book but a too sarcatic sounding reader"
The book content was good and provided a lot of information I wish was known to more people before it is too late. My only problem is that the reader had a very sarcastic voice that for me distracted from the facts.
