Love the story; lots of action, interesting characters, exotic places. However, I was not thrilled with the narrator. Had to increase the speed of narration just to get it to a normal listening mode. He spoke every word as if it were the most important word of the book. That gets old fast.
This book just wasn't my taste. Annoyed by narrators voice and story took off too slow.
Great story even if a little predictable. Great action scenes a little lite on character development.
I would rate Suspect as slightly above mediocre. It's kind of like reading a romance after studying for a British Lit test. It's a good story though a little predictable. You don't have to think, just enjoy.
One interested aspect of this novel is that the narration shifts back and forth between the dog and the man. You get an interesting effect when considering the dog's perspective.
I had no particular favorite scenes, but the whole book was enjoyable.
See comment above.
No! I have followed the series with every book through this one. I was so disappointed with this story and the narrator that I will not buy or listen to another Butcher book.
No, I will probably continue to read others in this genre, but not Dresden Files books.
Bring back James Marsters. Glover's voice is too high pitched to sound like the wizard that is Harry Dresden. Butcher has a tendency to get on a soap box every 10 minutes or 3; listening to Marsters, these rants were't that bad, but with Glover, they were unbearable.
The ghost, Harry Dresden. This whole story was so confusing and ended like the epic season fail of the Dallas series of the 80's where Bobby was only sleeping and dreaming practically the whole season.
I am as disappointed in Butcher with the story as I am with Glover's narration.
This book introduced me to a place I have never heard of; London's Dark Side. The scenes and characters of London's Dark Side reminded me of the saloon in the first Star War's movie. Very cool!
I chose this book because I am so enamored with the Harry Desden series. Though this book was very different, it had a similar sense of humor and the same wide ride as the Desden books. Loved it.
Vietor has a dryness in his voice that compliments the main character and just adds to the humor of the story.
If that had been possible, yes. I did listen every chance I got, Long drives, getting ready for work, cleaning house.
