"The worse book in the 39 Clues series"
Whereas all the other books in the series have plenty of substance and credibility, this book really undoes all the great work of the previous authors. There is no red thread that connects the back story and worse still the central characters start to go through a major personality change!
No
Same as usual - stunning repertoire of dialects and intonation keeps it all believable.
Major disappointment
I'm sure others will agree - we'd rather wait longer for the next instalment than listen to the weak ill conceived story we were duped with on this occasion.
"Very underwhelming fantasy"
Difficult to follow with little to retain the interest of tween listeners - disappointing to say the least.
"Awesome"
David Baldacci recovers the storyline from a disappointing book 5. Fantastic action, lots of unexpected twists and a truly mesmeric crescendo in a dramatic finale. As always David Pittu puts in another stunning performance. Bravo.
"Not much use as an audiobook"
Trying to picture how to tie different styles of knots is a futile exercise - a companion PDF would have made all the difference in the world.
"Awe-inspiring, jaw-dropping, stupendously good"
Guaranteed to take you on an epic journey - just as good as RJ Palacio's "Wonder".
"Too gory for young children"
Grimm by name - grim by nature. Definitely give it a miss if you have children with an innocent disposition.
"Amazing"
A book that is guaranteed to take your child on an amazing journey - engrossing, entertaining, enlightening - there aren't enough superlatives you can apply to this book to do it justice.
"Not suitable for the young at heart"
My daughter normally takes all books in her stride - however the subject matter of this book really unsettled her and we decided not to continue with the book. Be very sure that your youngster can handle the issue of mortality and terminal illness before you buy.
"A timeless classic"
Worth it's weight in gold - don't be put off by the brevity - in this case less is definitely more.
"My head hurt after listening to this"
Awful - save your credit and buy anything but this. This book will make you cry for the wrong reasons!
"Fantastic"
Amazing book with lots of great insights into the human condition. Gilbert's narration makes the material come alive. Highly recommend to anyone who loves the work of Malcolm Gladwell.
