"Good storty...very sub par narration"
Read all of them already.
Love Nesbo plots.
The reader ruined this story big time.
Very disappointed...no, angry....that such a good writer's work could suffer the tragedy of this reader's work. Nesbo deserves MUCH better treatment.
Love to see this book done over with a good reader. It would be a totally different experience.
"Mr. Johnson + Mr Patton = Priceless"
Absolutely without hesitation. This is the first audio book I have ever listened to two times in a row. .Patton is masterful once again. This may be one of his best performances. Johnson is hypnotic in both his language and his story. I have liked every book by Mr. Johnson starting with Tree of Smoke. This one is short but call it a 'small wonder'.
Before you know it each word, each line has pulled you unsuspectingly into a world you can not predict. You pick up your brain and look around and wonder how you got here....like a dream.
He breaths life and atmosphere into a the words and characters like no one else and is simply not possible with the written word.
Sorry. You do not mess with a masterpiece.
Simply a gem. Eagerly awaiting more from Johnson.
"Good and Quirky"
If you like TC Boyle, you should like this book. It is an odd premise and a quirky story but well told and narrated..
Never quite knew what twists were in store. That kept me reading on.
Just well done, nothing about it that distracted from the story.
Not really. Better it be savored than rushed.
"waste of time and money"
Not another Vince Flynn!
The narrator was flat, unimaginative and forced. Character voices simply were not the slightest bit believable.
The story was weak and formulaic and not imaginitive. Expressions and descriptions were trite at times.
"Unbelieveable"
The narration fit the tone and pace of the story and captured the essence of the main characters so poorly that it was struggle to listen all the way through. The basic plot was intriguing but story itself was way too full of unrealistic coincidences. I mean, once or twice would have been OK but the believability of the circumstances and events in almost every action scene were stretched and exaggerated to the point of distraction. That, unfortunately, made me want to move on to another book altogether.
