“I didn’t do it!” is something cops hear all the time. But when the plea comes from a close friend who’s fallen on hard times, it’s tougher to ignore, especially for young Officer Danny Boyle. It’s the start of another action-packed summer for the wisecracking Boyle and straight-arrow cop (now chief of detectives) John Ceepak down the Jersey Shore as they do their best to help Danny’s friend, a young nurse who claims she has been falsely accused of aggravated assault by a prestigious Sea Haven doctor.

Where does Free Fall rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I really like Fun House but, this is just a better story. It could be the best because Danny is a very competent detective. He is growing up and now make decision on his own plus the give take during interview with Ceepak.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

At no point during the investigation does Chris Grabenstein tip his hand and let you know would be the guilty person. On the hand with Danny knowing everyone on the island it is almost heart breaking when they are investigate another one his friends.

What does Jeff Woodman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

By far one my favor readers. What is now happening now is you'll hear an old or dead character in a new character voice. I just hope there is not a change here.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Danny's friend explains her job in advance age home care. When Danny's and his friend at the picnic table at he fish place.

    Any additional comments?

I just love this series. I hope they keep coming each May for the next several years.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes but they would have read many other books if they want the full effects of this.

What did you like best about this story?

That this book was not in constant battle a more story than just battles.

What about James Marsters’s performance did you like?

    Nice job!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    Harry and the gang.

    Any additional comments?

I did not like the last two books and was real reluctant to purchase this one. Only after reading many review did I go ahead and purchase this book. I am very glad I did, if you liked the old Harry and the stories then you'll like this book.

Where does Robert B. Parker's Bull River rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Top 10 easily but what I did like the development of the characters. I just don't want to spoil the book for others but it was just well done. By the way I have listen to every booked ever put into audio by Robert B. Parker.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Everertt, a man who is his own man and understand it and why. Still he is a side kick to Virgil. He has no problem with doing this but his true wish is to settle down with a that special woman and he just can't do it.

Who was the most memorable character of Robert B. Parker's Bull River and why?

Alejandro Vasquez, development of the character was so well done. For all the wrong reason you can't help but like the guy.

    Any additional comments?

He goes back to Robert B. Parker in what you will tolerate as a listener. Even when only two people are talking and it Everett is telling the story you get "he said or Virgil said" or "I said". I know it correct but with a little work and changing of the voice a little you could delete this situation.

Two dead bodies changed the course of my life that fall. One of them I knew and the other I'd never laid eyes on until I saw him in the morgue. The first was a local PI of suspect reputation. He'd been gunned down near the beach at Santa Teresa. It looked like a robbery gone bad. The other was on the beach six weeks later. He'd been sleeping rough. Probably homeless. No identification. A slip of paper with Millhone's name and number was in his pants pocket. The coroner asked her to come to the morgue to see if she could ID him.

What disappointed you about W Is for Wasted?

One no need to know how to make a cheese sandwich which take about 5 minutes in this book. Way too many times in this book she goes way too much description of an event or memory.

Has W Is for Wasted turned you off from other books in this genre?

Not at all but I'll read all reviews before finishing this series.

What about Judy Kaye’s performance did you like?

She always does a good job.

What character would you cut from W Is for Wasted?

    Too many to mention.

    Any additional comments?

For the professional Kinsey looks pretty awful most of the time in the last several books. She is active in criminal activities and then complains about what she has done. Like I said before after N it been all down hill.

Would you try another book from Brad Meltzer and/or Scott Brick?

At this point and time No. Scott Brick is the best reader in the business so yes for Scott.

Would you ever listen to anything by Brad Meltzer again?

Some of these story lines are getting old so I would really have to be desperate for a read.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

    none

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

The 20 chapters after the book was over.

    Any additional comments?

Some points of history real or made up were kind of neat. What disappointing was we have a president who is a not very good person and nothing sticks to him.

I generally don't like books where you take an antihero and then make them the good guy. Not sure if I'll follow the series or not thinking this is what wrong with our society.

Would you ever listen to anything by Jim Butcher again?

Good question, I've listen to this whole series and been waiting for this book. I got tried of every time Harry crossed a street he a major fight. Once or twice OK but 50 time way too much I cut the last 4 hours of the second part of three and didn't miss anything after starting part 3.

What does James Marsters bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

    No problems here.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

It would have to be rated x and over 3 hours. Guess not.

    Any additional comments?

No sure I'll continue this series, length of the book will have a lot to do with it.

Mattie is gruff, street-smart, and wise beyond her years, left to care for her younger siblings and an alcoholic grandmother in a dilapidated apartment in South Boston. Where does Robert B. Parker's Lullaby rank among all the audiobooks you???ve listened to so far?

This could very well be in the top 20%. My current library is somewhere around 250 so go figure.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

This not about one story or book but a process of several characters that have been developed over 30 years. What a great job Ace did with the characters.

What about Joe Mantegna???s performance did you like?

He is one of the best but now could not listen to him as anybody else except Spenser.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Love the times he talks with the love of his life, Sue. I always enjoy these parts.

    Any additional comments?

Hope Ace keep these coming, wish he could also pickup the Appaloosa series.
