"Hoping there is another story in this series"
I just love the Mackenzies. Again I think Angela Dawe has the perfect narration for 1880s England/Scotland. Harts story did not disappoint and I hope Ms Ashley continues on with Daniels story and Mr Fellows story. I started this series only because the first book sounded unusual, I don't regret it and each story has been equally good. These people have depth and soul.
"Even the best have off days !!!"
Nora Roberts is one of the best in the business and I never hesitate to purchase anything she puts out. I usually listen to her books in one or two sittings. I have to be honest I can't get through this one. I keep going back to it thnking it will get better but I just can't do it. Still love ya NR but this one was just ho hum to the bone. I didn't like Eli and Abra seemed to be a very weak copy of a character from another of NR's stories. Narrator was ok but not for this material, his female voices fail big time. I agree with one of the other reviewers, try the Witness or The Search for stand alone novels. She also has several good trioligies and sagas, my personal favorites are In The Garden and Chesapeake Bay. If you are a first timer with Nora please don't dispair go grab one of the suggested to get the real feel for her work. It just goes to show even the best have off days!!
"Great lazy afternoon story."
I felt like I was back in the era of the 80s paperback romance novel. It was an ok story but predictable, with ok characters that were predictable, with a sweet ending that was, yup, predictable.Nothing really exciting or exceptional about this one. That being said I am not sorry I listened to it and may find a lazy afternoon where I don't want to concentrate to hard and will listen again, maybe. Anna Fields did a respectable job narrating.
"Loved this, Very funny"
I will definately be listening to more from Molly Harper. This was a fast paced, funny, all around great story. The characters were rich and quick witted. The banter between the two was lively, I laughed out loud. I originally found Ms Harper with the free selection at valentines The Undead in My Bed and loved it so much I went looking for more. Amanda Ronconi was fantastic.
"I love Eve and Roarke"
I love all of the characters the are so integral to the stories of the In Death series that Ms Roberts could write about "a week in the lives" type story and I would still love it. Great as always and again as always no one could ever, ever replace Susan Ericksen as narrator.
"Great book, well written..Loved the narrator"
I was pleasantly surprised with this story. I really liked all of the characters in this book. I didn't feel Joss was a drama queen, lots of issues WOW yes, but if she had issues so did Braden, can we say a wee bit over bearing!! That being said I loved them both, how do we know the raction or issues of any peson with great tragedies in their very young lives. All of the characters in this story were great. At first I thought wow soooo much emphasis on sex (now can we also say STEAMY) in their relationship but then I reminded myself about their age and thought way back and said, yup I remember that LOL. I will definately listen to this one again and again. Now about the narration, WOW Paula Costello just became one of my favorites. I hope we hear more from her, she was absolutely great with accents . I am looking forward to the next book Down London Road and really hope Costello is narrator
"Not what I expected but could not quit listening"
I am not sure how to rate this book actually. To me I guess it depends on what you are looking for in " a good read". Everyone looks for something different I think at different times. This book was long, wordy, felt painful at the end to me for unfinshed business, unfair but all to real on who gets punished and who does not, and last but not least mixed emotions about the protagonist. I felt empathy for what he went thru and at other times a hardy dislike for him. This may seem a litttle disjointed but I am tring to avoid any spoilers.
Now that being said I liked the way the author writes this sory, slow, methodical, sometimes it even seemed ploding along, but it was right for this book. The story line itself kept me listening well into the night or just a few minutes more in the driveway. The characters were great, I liked the narrator, I couldn't figure out why the Irsh didn't sound Irsh?? a little disappointing, but I would listen to him again.
Now back to what are you looking for in a book, well for me whether it is to pass the time or want to be scared to death or feel warm and fuzzy, I want a book to leave me with something. I don't want to put it down and have a hard time remembering what the title even was. This book left me edgy, with an unexplainable uneasy feeling in my chest for a while after I finished it. I will definitely go get the next one in this series.
"Personal Favorite from the Elite Opps"
I was so glad to see this come to audio. I love Lora Leigh and this was my fav of the Elite Opps series. I do hope they bring out the rest of the series. I was a little disappointed in the narration, not that she is a bad or hard to listen to narrater, but I felt she was wrong for this material. I was hoping for a stronger performance in Noah/Nathan which I felt she fell short on. Over all I would listen to this again. I also hope thtey bring out the whole Breed series as well as the Nauti series.
"Not Just ANOTHER Highlander Romance - Great Book"
I think the title is a little miss leading because this story is really about falling in love not a seduction. Saying that I think this is by far my Favorite Maya Banks story yet. I am not one to wirte reviews with spoilers and I DO NOT recap the whole story, but I will say there are some interesting twists to make this special. I loved the charaters, they had depth, and honor and feelings. Kudos to Maya for making what could have been another "ho hum highlander" romance into something so much more. Kristen Potter is always great. Can't wait for the rest in this series.
"Enjoyable Rainy Afternoon Story"
This was a very enjoyable story and I always like Renee Raudmans narrations. I lots of times I find books by looking for a fav narrater rather then an author. This story had a good plot and enjoyable characters. It is a great curl up and relax book not a I can't put this down kind. Well worth the credit and one I will listen to again.
"Enjoyed this series very much"
Nora has done it yet again. I truly enjoyed this triology, even more after I went on line and found the real B&B and had a look at the rooms!! Wesley&Buttercup is just enchanting. I had high hopes, no pun intended, for this last entery because Ryder was my fav brother. He reminded me a little of Simon from Search yum yum. I was not disappointed. Then of course I rarely am with Nora. MacLeod Andrews is one of my favorite male narraters, I find male narraters harder to listen to at times but M. Andrews does a superb job and is easy and smooth.
