Annabeth is terrified. Just when she’s about to be reunited with Percy - after six months of being apart, thanks to Hera - it looks like Camp Jupiter is preparing for war. As Annabeth and her friends Jason, Piper, and Leo fly in on the Argo II, she can’t blame the Roman demigods for thinking the ship is a Greek weapon. With its steaming bronze dragon figurehead, Leo’s fantastical creation doesn’t appear friendly. Annabeth hopes that the sight of their praetor Jason on deck will reassure the Romans.

I've really enjoyed this series, and it is nice to see that The Mark of Athena follows the trend. Good story, good narration, good times.

I was so glad that the second book was not a let down. Although a little slow in the beginning, the relationship of the characters with each other, and plot twist had me glued to my ipod.

Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning? In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by 12 outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

I found the story very original and familiar at the same time. Highly creative, and I like that Katniss is real. By that I mean real emotions and thoughts from a different perspective then the usual "hero".
