  • iCon Steve Jobs: The Greatest Second Act in the History of Business

    • ABRIDGED (3 hrs and 35 mins)
    • By Jeffrey S. Young, William L. Simon
    • Narrated By Alan Sklar

In this encore to his classic 1987 unauthorized biography of Steve Jobs (Steve Jobs: The Journey is the Reward), Jeffrey Young examines Jobs' remarkable resurgence, one of the most amazing business comeback stories in years.

Blair says: "Steve Jobs History painted with a wide brush"
    "Very enjoyable"

I do not normally go for biographies but seeing this on a clients desk led me to search for it on audible. It was excellent and shows a balanced view of Steve Jobs the person.

  • The Greatest Salesman in the World

    • UNABRIDGED (2 hrs and 19 mins)
    • By Og Mandino
    • Narrated By Og Mandino

This is the legend of Hafid, a camel boy 2,000 years ago, and his burning desire to improve his lowly position in life, as told to his apprentice Erasmus. Hafid relates the story of how he became known as the Greatest Salesman in the World. His success lies in the wisdom of ten leather scrolls passed down to him from his master, Pathros.

    James says: "Inspiring!"

I have had the book version sitting on my shelf for many years and have never got on with it. I read some of the reviews and thought I would give it a go and I am pleased I did. The story works so much better in audio and I really got into it but also got the serious learning messages too which were nothing new but soimehow they got me inspired to do them more often. I shall be listening to this one many times and dusting down the book too!!

  • Made to Stick

    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs and 37 mins)
    • By Chip Heath, Dan Heath
    • Narrated By Charles Kahlenberg
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Mark Twain once observed, "A lie can get halfway around the world before the truth can even get its boots on." His observation rings true: urban legends, conspiracy theories, and bogus public-health scares circulate effortlessly. Meanwhile, people with important ideas (business people, teachers, politicians, journalists, and others) struggle to make their ideas "stick". In this indispensable guide, we discover that sticky messages of all kinds draw their power from the same six traits.

Jeremy says: "Even Better The Second Time"
    "Excellent work"

A must listen for anyone interested in powerful communication. It was well put together and very compelling to listen to.

  • The 8th Habit: From Effectiveness to Greatness

    • UNABRIDGED (14 hrs and 19 mins)
    • By Stephen R. Covey
    • Narrated By Stephen R. Covey

The 8th Habit is the answer to the soul's yearning for greatness, the organization's imperative for significance and superior results, and humanity's search for its "voice". Profound, compelling, and stunningly timely, this groundbreaking new audiobook of next level thinking gives a clear way to finally tap the limitless value-creation promise of the Knowledge Worker Age.

T.L. says: "It really does take it to the next level"

I am a big Covey fan and I was very disappointed with this work. It was no where need the standard of his previous works. I did not listen to more that 30 minutes as I got bored. I normally listen to audio books all the way through (and I normally go for the unabridged versions).

  • A Whole New Mind (Live)

    • ORIGINAL (1 hr and 13 mins)
    • By Daniel Pink
    • Narrated By Daniel Pink

Just as we were getting used to the Information Age, Daniel Pink tells us that it is ending. With it goes our focus on charts, statistics, and linear thinking. Traditional "left-brain" activities, like logic, analysis, and repetitive production, are being turned over to robots, computers, and offshore labor. The valued skills of the 21st Century will be those of the right brain: empathy, design, synthesis, and contextual thinking.

Joao Coelho says: "A good reminder of the book"

I had heard a lot about 'A whole new mind' by Daniel Pink. I avoided buying this one for a while as it was quite short and obviously not the complete book. I finally gave in and I am so glad I did. It is not only enlightening but it is also very amusing and motivational. I have listened to it several times which is quite unusual for me. I do hope Daniel Pink records the complete 'A whole new mind'

  • Wake Me Up When the Data Is Over

    • UNABRIDGED (9 hrs and 53 mins)
    • By Lori Silverman
    • Narrated By Kate Reading

Do you wish you could more fully engage your employees? Or reduce turnover by 25% or more? Do you need to quickly align staff around the organization's long-term strategy? Or achieve double-digit growth? Then this groundbreaking audiobook is for you.

Richard White says: "Wake me up when the book is over!"
"Wake me up when the book is over!"

The author does nothing to inspire people to tell stories.

I am a great lover of stories and use them in business. I was looking forward to something that gave me new insights. Instead I was bored to tears. After 10 minutes it has still not got past the foreward and it did not get much better.

Contrast this with the wonderful book 'Made to Stick' which covered stories in a brilliant and new way.

This is the first time I have been inclined to write a review despite some real duds! If you want to learn more about stories then get 'Made to Stick' - unless you want something to help with insomnia!
