"Great narrator hampered by so-so story...."
The story was haphazard, rife with hyperbole, and contained an absolutely unnecessary love-interest secondary story for Donna which, frankly, ruined the entire thing for me. The one redeeming element of the whole thing was Catherin Tate's performance because she is a brilliant character actress.
Listen for her deft usage of accent and characterization. The story is pale by comparison.
"Donna Noble For The Win!"
If it weren't for Catherine Tate narrating this particular story, I wouldn't have been laughing out loud in my car on Highway 80 on my long commute home. Believe me, that alone changes lives around here. :)
Brilliant story read by brilliant woman. Who could ask for more?
"Except I never got thirsty"
I think the performers did an excellent job with their characters and am looking forward to the rest of the books.
