Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would definately recommend this book to a few of my friend. I do not typically read or listen to these short romance books. I chose this book because I wanted a quick read. I was drawn into the performance. The narrator's voice drew me in with the serious, believable honey smooth tone.

Why we think it’s a great listen: An all-time Audible favorite that mixes historic fiction, adventure, and romance with one of the most fascinating literary devices: time travel. Outlander introduces an exhilarating world of heroism and breathtaking thrills as one woman is torn between past and present, passion and love. In 1945, former combat nurse Claire Randall returns from World War II and joins her husband for a second honeymoon. But their blissful reunion is shattered....

What did you love best about Outlander?

    I love the narrator.

What other book might you compare Outlander to and why?

Pillars of the Earth. Well written like that book.

Which character – as performed by Davina Porter – was your favorite?

Jamie... Of course. But I love the confusion that arises when Claire slips and uses modern cuss words.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. Could na put it down you can.

    Any additional comments?

Someone keeps coughing in the background. Like in the other room from the narrator. A disgusting noise. It doesn't happen all the time but often enough to be a distraction.

Would you try another book from Theresa Ragan and/or Sarah Drew?

I would not purchase another book from this author.

Would you ever listen to anything by Theresa Ragan again?

The narrator was talented. It is not her fault that the story was so bad.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

    Yes

Was Having My Baby worth the listening time?

    No, not at all.

    Any additional comments?

This is the worst, unrealistic plot I have ever heard of. I cannot believe I made it through the whole thing.

Defiant Highland beauty Fiona Sinclair is shocked by her brothers’ treachery. To seal a fragile truce, they have traded her hand in marriage to their sworn enemy, a man she has never met, a man she was raised to despise. With no choice but to wed, Fiona makes her own private vow: Though she may sacrifice her freedom, she will never surrender her heart. Commanded into marriage by the king, Myles Campbell is no more willing than his reluctant bride. Still, she is a rare beauty, passionate enough to warm even the coldest marriage bed.

If you could sum up Highland Surrender in three words, what would they be?

    Wonderful love story.

What other book might you compare Highland Surrender to and why?

Fair to compare this book to other romance books of this type. Story is changed up a bit but alas is typical.

What about Sarah Coomes’s performance did you like?

I loved the way she could switch accents with fluid transition.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

This book is not film worthy.

    Any additional comments?

It is a book that I would read again.

Would you consider the audio edition of A Walk in the Woods to be better than the print version?

I think the fact that it is Bill Bryson who is narrating his own book makes this book worth the time and money. I LOVE this book. A story subject that should be absolutely boring is actually full of humor. This book is also rich with historical facts and present day issues.

Why we think it’s a great listen: The most celebrated performance in all of Audible’s history, The Help has nearly 2,000 5-star reviews from your fellow listeners. We hear the print book’s not bad, either. In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women - mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends - view one another.

Where does Fifty Shades of Grey rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Yes, I admit this was a bold story line and the housewives took it and ran... I enjoyed reading this book at the same time as my girlfriends because the gossip factor alone was worth it. But, the book's main character is weak and her pouting was aweful... dragged out in the character developent. This narration was terrible... the narrator emphasized the pouting way to much. When the girls and I tried to listen to this book we were so completely turned off... so much for using the other books in the series during out knitting circle... we abandoned the first one after chaper 5... the performance was that bad.

Best Actress nominee Anne Hathaway (Rachel Getting Married, Alice In Wonderland), fresh from filming one of this year’s most anticipated films, The Dark Knight Rises, lends her voice to this uniquely American fairy tale.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I LOVE this book and story. I was excited to see Anne Hathoway performing the narration... I could only get half-way through this book. She was terrible... just terrible. Not worth the time.

Would you be willing to try another one of Anne Hathaway’s performances?

    No way... NEVER again.

Clare and Henry have known each other since Clare was six and Henry was 36. They were married when Clare was 23 and Henry was 31. Impossible but true, because Henry is one of the first people diagnosed with Chrono-Displacement Disorder: periodically his genetic clock resets and he finds himself misplaced in time, pulled to moments of emotional gravity from his life, past and future. His disappearances are spontaneous, his experiences unpredictable, alternately harrowing and amusing.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Time Traveler's Wife to be better than the print version?

I am not sure I would have been able to follow the print version. I would have definately hung myself up in the time line of events. With the audio version I was able to concentrate of the visual description of events and the story. Well written and well read.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I had a hard time putting this one down.

The twisted plot is refreshing. A very tallented author.

If you want a book for simple background noise then this is it. If you want brain stimulation then I would pass on this on. The plot has been there before... and stories of spoiled stars and starletts are so yesterday.
