My sister recommended this series to me and I was very pleasantly surprised with the first book. Changeless has shown me that the first book was not a fluke. Alexia Tarabotti Mcconn, is a force to be reckoned with and I really like that she and her husband adore one another... This series makes me laugh out loud!

I had high hopes for this book after A Discovery of Witches, I was not disappointed. I loved how while they were in the past, the people they left in the present would find artifacts that let them know they were still alive... well woven, written and read! Looking forward to the third installation.

I really enjoyed meeting Adelia in this book and am looking forward to the rest of the books in the series. What really drew me in was the time period in which this takes place, not a commonly written about period and that in itself made the story fun.

One of my favorite authors, read by one of my favorite readers, what more could you ask for?

I started listening to this book and just could not get into it. A couple of months later, I tried again, this time, I really was able to get into it and enjoy the heck out of it. A bit of old school crime novels, magic and a bit of steampunk to boot. I fell in love with Jake Sullivan and my heart broke when his did...

But saw all the movies... and Michael York's narration put those movies to shame. I was enthralled.

I really enjoyed this book however the reader made the main character sound like she was always stoned rather than a lovely southern drawl.

This is the kind of book that due to the names of the characters and places, I would have put away because I have a hard time figuring out how to pronounce them. Having this book in audio showed me what I was missing out. The characters in this book were very likeable and the reader made them even more so. I am looking forward to the next book...

The writing is positively a joy to 'read', the reader has brought this book to life and without hesitation, I've put the rest of the books in my library. The writing is witty, entertaining and the reader has done a lovely job of keeping me entertained. I was a bit worried at the start as there were audible swallows from the reader but those stopped after the second chapter and the reader has found her groove and brought the characters to life quite nicely.

The reviews for this book sucked me in to buying, the writing and the reader kept me enthralled. I'm looking forward to the rest of the books in the series, I love the historical aspects of the books, I love the character of Matthew Shardlake and the reader does a great job of bringing this book to life.
