Georgie, aka Lady Victoria Georgiana Charlotte Eugenie, cousin of King George V of England, is penniless and trying to survive on her own as an ordinary person in London in 1932. So far she has managed to light a fire and boil an egg... She's gate-crashed a wedding... She's making money by secretly cleaning houses... And she's been asked to spy for Her Majesty the Queen.

    Story

This book is marketed as a mystery novel but to me, the mystery was only secondary. The story revolves more around the young Lady Georgiana: her attempts to become independent and make ends meet in the big city, her unique family, friends, acquaintances, love interests etc. The mystery in itself is pretty basic but still entertaining enough to keep you interested.
The style stroke me as very reminiscent of PG Wodehouse's because of the flamboyant characters and the humour that is ever present all throughout the novel. The narrator does an excellent job; listening to her was a real pleasure. Highly recommended.

Toru, a quiet and preternaturally serious young college student in Tokyo, is devoted to Naoko, a beautiful and introspective young woman, but their mutual passion is marked by the tragic death of their best friend years before. Toru begins to adapt to campus life and the loneliness and isolation he faces there, but Naoko finds the pressures and responsibilities of life unbearable.

    "Nice book - Average narration"
    Overall

The story is quite intriguing and each character is thoroughly developped. I did not find it one bit boring.

James Yaegashi's narration of the main character was good enough and I liked the fact that he can actually pronounce Japanese terms and names. However, he ticked me off the moment he started impersonating female characters. He made them sound meek, cheesy and clingy. Considering that the most important characters in that book are women, I found that really annoying.
