"Another Good Book!!"
While this is a little bit of a let down after Oracle's Moon, it is still a good book. The Lord that Falls is a surprise and the 2 new Sentinals are both a real surprise also. I found Pia's new Wyr guard to be funny and a very good addition to the story line. I can also see her and the Harpy coming to blows in a future story. It will be interesting to see how the 2 new Sentinals develope into their new roles and to see how other relationships develope.
Ms. Eastlake does her usual great job of narrating and there are still many stories yet to be told in this series. I do hope Ms. Harrison writes them all because I eagerly await them. I do hope it doesn't take to long for the next installment.
"I Would Like to Thank That Reviewer!!!!"
While browsing through books I came across the review written by another listener and I'm sorry to say I do not remember who it was. But she mentioned this series in the review that she had written for another book and am I glad she did!!! I wasn't to interested in the original book, but I decided to check out this series and again I have to thank you for mentioning it. This is the story of Lily St. James a dormant and Daniel (who happens to be the police chief of New Orleans) a werewolf. This is the first time I have heard of the term "dormant" in relationship to werewolves, a term that means more then just mate. Lily is caught between 2 powerful alpha werewolves, Daniel and Cole. As the story moves along, you come to find out Cole is not the sinister werewolf that he seems to be despite what he does to Lily.
Ms. Walden writes a fast paced book with may twist and turns and Gildart Jackson does a great job of narrating all though he could use a little work on his female voices.
"I Enjoyed This One Very Much!"
A very interesting twist on "War of the Worlds." I found Korum to be a fascinating character and Mia to truly be naïve. Because Mia is so inexperienced, she does not think to ask questions that she should and it could have cost her a great deal. This story also shows what can go wrong when your "Allies" don't give you the whole truth about things.
There are many things that were left unexplained in this book, but that give me a reason to look forward to the next in this series. I do hope that Anna Zaires continues with Korum and Mia's story and more about the Krinar.
"Not What I was Expecting"
This is a bit of a let down after Thea Harrison's Elder Race series. While she does a good job of writing this book, it is what I would call a ground work book for what I hope will come. Unfortunately that is what most of this book is, ground work, but there is some good action at the end and some very interesting questions posed at the end. It will be interesting to see if what I think and hope happens to Nick. Now that the ground work has been done, I look forward to the next book in this series as well as the next in her Elder Race series.
As always Sophie Eastlake does a great job of narrating.
"Great Second Book!!"
A great second book and no let down from the first (Feral Sins). Suzanne Wright continues with a good story line, fast action pace, and strong supporting characters. This is Dante's story and give a very in depth look at a Beta's role in a wolf pack. Something that is lacking in other books even if they do mention the Beta. It also explains a lot about the imprinting and what can happen if it goes wrong, which it did once to Dante. Jaime is the other lead character in this story and her story tells what can happen to a shifter that is traumatized early in life. Together they over come what happened in their pasts. There are a lot of funny scenes as well. I very much look forward to hearing the other pack members stories.
If you liked Thea Harrison's Elder Race series or Nalini Singh's Changeling series, then I think you will enjoy this series as well.
"This one surprised me!!!"
If your looking for a good love story this is the one for you. This is a straight forward love story, no vamps, wolves, or changlings. Just a good honest love story with alot of fun and a strong cast of supporting characters. Its hard to find a good book while waiting for my favorite authors to put out something new, but this is a good book. If you don't like love stories, then this is not the book for you.
"4 Good Short Stories"
If you have not heard the other books in this series, you will not really understand why these 4 stories were needed to be told. I was very glad to hear Tam and Nat's story, I have wandered about them since book 1. Zach and Cooper's stories are a lot of fun as well, but it was Lara and Walker's story that I really liked. I was hoping after book 10 that more would be written about them. It was also nice to hear alittle more about what happened after the "War" but there is still alot more to be written on that and I really hope Ms. Singh does write about it. I also hope to see more about the "Arrow's" some of them seem like they would have very interesting stories as well. If you liked this series, then I think you will like hearing these 4 stories as well.
"A fun look at vampires"
I can see why Kismet (female lead) need a psychologist and boy can she get herself into trouble or maybe I should say trouble finds her. Dev (male lead) is a very mysterious charater and it will be interesting to find out more about him. The supporting cast and sub-plots help make this a good listen.
I found the writers spin on vampires interesting, funny, and refreshing. However, the narrator leaves sum to be desired. Maybe I'm just spoiled by my 3 favorite narrators who do both female and male voices so well.
Over all I found this book to be a fun one to listen to and I've already downloaded book 2.
"A very cute way of looking at vampires"
I would not have normally gotten this book, but none of my normal authors have anything new out yet, so I decided to try this one out. I'm not disappointed that I did. This is a very cute story and Ms. Harper nailed the small town mentallity on the head. I know, because I have lived in several small towns over the years. Jane's family reminds me alot of my own and that's no joke! Jane is an interesting character and Gabriel is very mysterious, I would like to know more about him and his past. Ms. Harper does say that he will let us know at "A later time."
If your looking for the normal vampire story, then this one is not for you. This is more along the lighter side of vampires and is a much refreshing look at them. The one thing I did not like about this book is the narrator needs to work more on the male voices. But for the most part this is lighthearted and will make you laugh at times.
"A Good Short Story"
The only thing wrong with this book is that it's to short. There is a lot I would like to know yet, so I hope Gillian Archer will consider re-writing this one and expanding it. If your looking for a short love story, then you will like this book.
"An Overall Surprise!!!"
I was very surprised by this book. After looking and sampleing a number of books last night I came across this book. I must admit that at first I was sorry that I got it. The book starts out as though the first couple of chapters were skipped and I wasn't sure I would keep listening to it, but I did and am I glad I did. While it does start out very weak, it gets very strong by the end. So much so, that I have already downloaded the next two in the series.
Ms. Briggs is a new author to me and she has developed a good story line. I like the way she developed the Omega. While I've heard of the Alpha and Beta members of a pack, this is the first time I've heard of an Omega member.
Holter Graham is a new narrator to me as well. Over all he does a good job of narrating this book, but he does need to work on his female voices.
If you do decided to get this book, keep in mind that you have to get to part 2 to get to the stronger parts of the story. By the end, I think you will be glad you did.
