"Don't Bother..........."
This is not your typical Lincoln Child novel. The characters and storyline just aren't believable. I finished it only because I was hoping that it was going to get better. It didn't.
The only bright spot was the narration. Scott Brick is always a pleasure to listen to.
"Don't bother"
When I first heard about this book, I thought it was a great idea. Unfortunately, it wasn't such a great idea. The book just doesn't have the flow as having one author write it. too many ideas and too many different ways to go. I had too much trouble following it. they are all great authors, just not together.
"Worth a listen"
This book was a great insight to what is actually going on with many professional athletes, not just Barry Bonds. It's a real eye opener to what these athletes are willing to put in their bodies to succeed at their sport. Definitely worth a listen, especially before the Mitchell report is released next month.
"Don't let the 40 hours scare you"
I have to admit that I was hesitant to buy a book that was 40 hours about monks building a cathedral in the 12th century. This book came highly recommended and that is why I bought it. I am glad that I did. It was great. It was masterfully written with great characters and a plot that always kept you guessing. The first hour or so was a bit slow, but after that I found myself sitting in the car waiting for the chapter to end before I got out.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys historical fiction or just a wonderfully written story. My only concern at this point is that i do not think that WWE will live up to this book.
"Don't Bother"
This book was terrible from the beginning. Part of the problem was the narration. He was just so flat and dull. I listened to the first seven hours in hopes that something was going to happen. It didn't. I listened for 3 more hours and finally gave up. Not worth the time or money.
"Power Play"
The book was way too short. The story was good and different than most. Definitely worth the price. The narration was excellent. Finally, a narrator that measures up to Scott Brick.
"The Company"
Very long, but keeps your interest.Fictional story filled with actual event. Lots of character's names and nicknames to remember, but a great listen. Narration was excellent.
"The Secret"
Save your money. Don't bother. Silly concept and terrible narration.
"The Overlook"
I have read just about all of Michael Connelly's novels and this one just doesn't measure up. Harry Bosh's sarcastic character is always good for a few laughs, but the book just felt rushed. At 6 hours.... it just wasn't enough. It wasn't bad and was entertaining, but not as good as his usual books.
"Not worth it"
I was expecting so much more. It was such a let down. I went out and bought the book afterwards to see if it lost something as an audio book, it certainly did. The 90 minutes didn't do it justice.
