Now he’s out on bail and has missed his date in court, and bounty hunter Stephanie Plum is looking to bring him in. Leads are quickly turning into dead ends, and all too frequently into dead bodies. Even Joe Morelli, the city’s hottest cop, is struggling to find a clue to the suspected killer’s whereabouts. These are desperate times, and they call for desperate measures.

What made the experience of listening to Top Secret Twenty-One the most enjoyable?

"BABE" the narrator does a great job on Ranger with his BABE, gives you a little tingle. The other character voices are good too.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Good story, loved the part with the "minions" and the whole thing with Briggs was a hoot.

Which character – as performed by Lorelei King – was your favorite?

Grandma Mazur without a doubt, cracks me up every time

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

no I like to listen over time to spread out the enjoyment

    Any additional comments?

Part with Joe and Stephanie that made me laugh so hard I almost had an accident. I loved the descriptions of Ranger and Joe, made you want to go find them and just "grab" them. This whole book was terrific. Evanovich had been phoning in her stories for a while and this went back to her regular style and was very enjoyable. If she sticks with this type I would look forward to many more books.

If you could sum up No Wake Zone in three words, what would they be?

Fun, enjoy the character especially because she is older and still has spunk and sex appeal. She is intelligent yet she still gets herself into crazy predicaments.

What about KC Cowan’s performance did you like?

good performance, keeps the action interesting

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

no, I enjoy listening in small doses.

    Any additional comments?

Much better than the Stephanie Plum books, geared to older women. Character still gets herself in a pickle but she comes out on the right side. Entertaining. Plan on listening to more of this series and have recommended it to female friends.

He joins pretty but cold veterinarian Sun Jones, eccentric molecular biologist Dr. Frank Belgium, and a hodge-podge of religious, military, and science personnel to try and figure out if the creature is, indeed, Satan. But things quickly go bad, and very soon Andy isn’t just fighting for his life, but the lives of everyone on earth.

The author threw in some good topical jabs that gave me a chuckle, nothing to do with the storyline.
Story was good, a bit supernatural, a bit religious and a bit government conspiracy. Got this on sale so was well worth that. A different spin for me and that was good.

The smartphone is poised to take on a new role in medicine, no longer as a mere medical app but rather as a fully customizable personal physician capable of diagnosing and treating even better than the real thing. It’s one thing for a lady to be a little vague about her age, but Toots hasn’t been entirely honest with Phil about the number of marriages in her past. Frankly, after burying eight husbands, Toots suspects she should end her relationship rather than jinx Phil, too. As a distraction from her personal dilemma, Toots throws herself into helping Abby and Chris open an animal rescue on their plantation. And then another diversion hits - this one deadly serious. Two young children have disappeared after visiting.

What would have made Classified better?

Had the opportunity to do something with several storylines, but weren't developed. Started, ending quickly on to wrapping up characters. This book tells me this series is over...everyone had a happy ending. Blah blah blah, boring!

Would you ever listen to anything by Fern Michaels again?

Not sure, loved the Sisterhood series but the last one wasn't that good either. Seems Michaels has lost her edge. Guess she will stick to her romance novels which aren't for me.

What didn’t you like about Natalie Ross’s performance?

Ok but hard to hear much of the time, even with my volume turned up to the max.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

    Not really

    Any additional comments?

Badly done ending to the series (or so it seems to me, everyone got married off..boring. No drama, no excitement.

Fading into the background isn’t the Sisterhood way. Even after all the adventures they’ve shared, the courageous, close-knit heroines of Fern Michaels’ New York Times best-selling series are always ready to embrace another challenge… All good things must come to an end. But Myra Rutledge isn’t ready to put the Sisterhood - the stalwart band of friends who’ve become legendary for meting out their own brand of justice - behind her just yet.

Good story but I missed the Sisterhood, the originals. This was basically a Myra and Annie story. Needed more pop. No major drama or exciting scenes. Still enjoyed it, nice light story. Keep them coming but bring back Harry Wong and the original Sisterhood. Bring back that edge.

After working one of the worst mass killings in U.S. history, Scarpetta returns home to Cambridge, Massachusetts. Exhausted and ill, she's recovering at home when she receives an unsettling call. The body of a young woman has been discovered on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's rugby field. The victim, a graduate student named Gail Shipman, is oddly draped in ivory linen and posed in a way that is too deliberate to be the killer's first strike.

If you’ve listened to books by Patricia Cornwell before, how does this one compare?

Same, not sure why I listen to them because this narrator is horrible.

What didn’t you like about Kate Reading’s performance?

Boring, reader is just not involved, phones it in. Very irritating. Won't listen to another booker with Kate Reading as narrator. I am just so done with her horrible performance.

    Any additional comments?

I kept listening only because I wanted to see the ending and as usual, was way too obvious.

Pet Peeve, if you are going to narrate a book, learn to pronounce names of towns and institutions properly. Totally unacceptable in today's internet, where you can find enunciation keys everywhere.
Pronunciation for Gustavus Adolphus (Gus·ta·vus Adol·phus) not goosed toff us or whatever it is he says, horrible

The brother of patriarch Phil Robertson, Uncle Si has a limitless supply of stories about his childhood, duck hunting adventures, his days in Vietnam, and everything in between. Now the best of those tales are gathered into this roaring collection.

Si shares stories of the more than 25 marriage proposals he's received in the mail (some with photos!), how he came to use a green Tupperware cup for his ever-present sweet tea, and how his cigarette smoke made a deer cough (he's since quit smoking).

    Love Si

Who was your favorite character and why?

    Si of course

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Yes, Jase was a bit difficult to listen to so I listened in shorter spurts than I did Happy Happy Happy. I like Jase but as a good narrator, not so much.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No way could I have done that, best to listen in small does

    Any additional comments?

Great to learn what made Si the man he is. He was much more grounded throughout his life than Phil. The Viet Nam stories were OK but what did it for me the most was the ending where Si told us about his faith. The letters from his darling dear wife was so touching. Also the letters from his kids. I commend Si for keeping his kids and wife off of Duck Dynasty, allows them to maintain their privacy. Si is someone I would love to know in person, what a wonderful man and his silliness and HEY just adds so much to his personality, that all came out in the book. Carry on Si.
