Listened to almost 6 hours and nothing has happened. Just lots of character information and of course the Judeo/Roman history (which is why I continued to listen) There is no way this can be called a thriller/suspense. Reading my Bible is much more suspenseful than this book.
It just doesn't deliver a good story. I don't think I can finish this, regardless of how much I find the historical information interesting.
Yes-hope he is good in another book I have in my library if the story actual has some suspense/action to it, instead of drawn out character study.
want my credit back
Race, the General, especially at the end
The author threw in some good topical jabs that gave me a chuckle, nothing to do with the storyline.
Story was good, a bit supernatural, a bit religious and a bit government conspiracy. Got this on sale so was well worth that. A different spin for me and that was good.
Not his biggest fan but he does a good job
Don't listen to this book if you aren't happy with the current healthcare system, it will make you even more upset.
Great book. Really enjoyed it. No definitive ending. A winner for Robin Cook.
Had the opportunity to do something with several storylines, but weren't developed. Started, ending quickly on to wrapping up characters. This book tells me this series is over...everyone had a happy ending. Blah blah blah, boring!
Not sure, loved the Sisterhood series but the last one wasn't that good either. Seems Michaels has lost her edge. Guess she will stick to her romance novels which aren't for me.
Ok but hard to hear much of the time, even with my volume turned up to the max.
Badly done ending to the series (or so it seems to me, everyone got married off..boring. No drama, no excitement.
Good story but I missed the Sisterhood, the originals. This was basically a Myra and Annie story. Needed more pop. No major drama or exciting scenes. Still enjoyed it, nice light story. Keep them coming but bring back Harry Wong and the original Sisterhood. Bring back that edge.
Same, not sure why I listen to them because this narrator is horrible.
Boring, reader is just not involved, phones it in. Very irritating. Won't listen to another booker with Kate Reading as narrator. I am just so done with her horrible performance.
I kept listening only because I wanted to see the ending and as usual, was way too obvious.
Pet Peeve, if you are going to narrate a book, learn to pronounce names of towns and institutions properly. Totally unacceptable in today's internet, where you can find enunciation keys everywhere.
Pronunciation for Gustavus Adolphus (Gus·ta·vus Adol·phus) not goosed toff us or whatever it is he says, horrible
Si of course
Yes, Jase was a bit difficult to listen to so I listened in shorter spurts than I did Happy Happy Happy. I like Jase but as a good narrator, not so much.
No way could I have done that, best to listen in small does
Great to learn what made Si the man he is. He was much more grounded throughout his life than Phil. The Viet Nam stories were OK but what did it for me the most was the ending where Si told us about his faith. The letters from his darling dear wife was so touching. Also the letters from his kids. I commend Si for keeping his kids and wife off of Duck Dynasty, allows them to maintain their privacy. Si is someone I would love to know in person, what a wonderful man and his silliness and HEY just adds so much to his personality, that all came out in the book. Carry on Si.
the whole thing, was expecting something funny, at least maybe light hearted, hopefully like a Stephanie Plum book. NOT at all! Maybe it was the delivery by the narrator, trying to have a terrible nasal Texas twang. Definitely asking for my credit back and won't try another by this author or narrator.
totally lame performance
There were a few moments that could have been developed into something funny but it just fell flat time after time.
If I had the book I could have gone back and reread some of the things towards the end. When I listening, I multi-task, I had to replay a few chapters to make sure what I thought I heard I heard, especially near the end.
the end really summed up the story so well (no spoilers here) but it showed the many levels of the story
he is just so easy to listen to, my favorite narrator
No, too long and you need time to absorb it all
The ending was great, not what I expected and had so many levels and depths for the characters. Really enjoyed this book and hope the author can write another as well as this one. The story had a different background than most of what is out there now but it kept the suspense and was thought-provoking as well. Best book I have listened to in quite a while. Highly recommend, especially to those looking for something different from the norm.
