"Wish it was longer"
Long build up to short climax but I knew that with this series. I do enjoy them and can't wait for the next one.
"Love this series, light entertainment"
Good entertainment
Any in the series
Skye. She seems to only have two female voices.
Great to mix-up with my more serious selections
"lots of twists and turns, everyone is suspect"
No, the narrator gets a bit tiring and I almost quit when she horribly mispronounced cities and areas. If you are going to narrate about a known setting, learn how to pronounce the names. Pitiful. Also her voices all sounded alike, she had one female style and one male style. Again, if you want to narrate learn how to do it.
Good story overall. Everyone was suspect right to the end.
See above, terrible narrator
No
Served it's purpose of light entertainment.
"Pretentious, "hero" not likable"
NO. Main character had no redeeming qualities, pretentious, obnoxious. Readers was horrible, like fingernails on chalk board.
Will not get another book he reads.
Definitely want my credit back for this loser. I listened for over two hours and the story and characters just did not peek my interest at all. I have a graduate degree and knew the lines of poetry and other references but I felt this was terribly snobbish, maybe the setting...argh! Enough, I quit.
"just who was the snake"
interesting twist
Learning about Skye's ex-fiance
Skye's swimsuit as undergarment
No, I enjoy these over several days, spreads out the enjoyment
This one had more twists and turns than usual, which I liked. No spoilers sorry.
"Exciting well-developed thriller"
interesting story line. one of Child's better works..
I like him as a narrator, easy to understand.
Not really, would have been too much. Best broken into parts. keeps the interest that way.
Would recommend to those that like this genre, thriller with science fiction flavor.
"Fun to learn how it all started, love this seriers"
Mystery with a kick
Skye and Simon's first encounter, too funny and all too real to many of us.
I love audio books so I can do something else while listening, consummate multi-tasker. Khristine is easy on the ears, especially when they are old ears. Easy to understand her and good tone and inflection while reading.
Can you believe this town is close to Chicago?
Light and entertaining. Skye never thought she would have to eat those words so carelessly said at her graduation, lesson for all of us. Loved the interaction of all the characters and will be fun to see how they all develop. (I started listening towards the end of the series.)
"Quit after 2.5 hours, wasn't going anywhere"
Nope, trying to be like Janet Evanovich and just not up to that challenge. Delucca is no Stephanie Plum.
Very drawn out and didn't go anywhere, totally missed the boat on this one.
Concept was good but not developed well at all.
"Excellent Pendergast, hope it's not over"
Yes, I enjoy this series. Good thriller, maintains your interest even with some of the fanciful storylines.
Agent Pendergast of course. HE is the reason for the books.
I enjoy his narration, easy to understand and not boring.
at the end when Tristan revolted, wonderful.
Some old storylines were tied up which made me wonder if the series will continue. Did miss Lieutenant D'Agosta, not much involvement. Thought the storyline with the girl and her father was a bit out of context of the story. Felt like some of the storyline was right out of Boys From Brazil.
"Another Stephanie Plum hit"
High on the enjoyment list...just plain fun, light and entertaining.
Not really, the plots of these books are not real good mysteries but I am OK with that because I enjoy the characters.
No, I listened over a few days, spread out the fun. It isn't a page turning thriller that you want to gobble up all at one time. Trite expression, it is what it is, and I enjoy that and look forward to the next book.
BABE
"He's Back"
Probably, Love Clive Cussler
Interesting but not edge of seat thriller, but good Cussler
Standard Scott Brick
Great to hear the old gang together. Need more original Dirk Pitt books.
