Jen Lancaster was living the sweet life-until real life kicked her to the curb. She had the perfect man, the perfect job-hell, she had the perfect life - and there was no reason to think it wouldn't last. Or maybe there was, but Jen Lancaster was too busy being manicured, pedicured, highlighted, and generally adored to notice.

At first when I started it, I thought, I hate this lady! But it got better. Yes she is kind of a pill but as time goes by, she starts to change. I enjoyed it.

The Good House tells the story of Hildy Good, who lives in a small town on Boston's North Shore. Hildy is a successful real-estate broker, good neighbor, mother, and grandmother. She's also a raging alcoholic. Hildy's family held an intervention for her about a year before this story takes place - "if they invite you over for dinner, and it’s not a major holiday," she advises "run for your life" - and now she feels lonely and unjustly persecuted. She has also fooled herself into thinking that moderation is the key.

Rhonda Morrison says: "What a great book, Hildy is a great character!"

Wow, Mary Beth Hurt, the narrator did an amazing job with this book! I have never heard this actress narrate before.
This was a very good story, one that I usually don't listen to but I was extremely surprised. The character development was excellent.

The sequel you’ve been waiting for: the follow-up to the sensational number-one best seller The Devil Wears Prada. Andrea "Andy" Sachs is on top of the world, running her own very successful high-fashion bridal magazine. But she got there with the help of her rolodex - actually, the rolodex of Miranda Priestly, her former nightmare of a boss. As Andy's success grows, she realizes she'll soon have to face Miranda. Still, Andy can hardly anticipate the horrifying reality that’s approaching - a reversal so profound that she will be squarely in Miranda’s crosshairs once more.

I was very disappointed after I finished this book. Although Megan Hilty did an okay job with this book I felt that that author just rushed writing it.

Not at ALL like the first book. So if I had to do it all over again, I would of passed on this book and purchased something else.

As far as Gemma is concerned, her days of dating are over. In fact, it’s her job to cater other peoples’ dates, and that’s just fine by her. At 37, she has her own business, working as a private chef, and her life feels full. She’s got six steady clients that keep her hands full. For Gemma, cooking is predictable. Recipes are certain. Use good ingredients, follow the directions, and you are assured success. Life, on the other hand, is full of variables. So when Gemma’s takes an unexpected turn on a road she always thought was straight and narrow, she must face her past.

The definitive memoir by legendary actress and performer Debbie Reynolds - an entertaining and moving story of enduring friendships and unbreakable family bonds, of hitting bottom and rising to the top again - that offers a unique and deeply personal perspective on Hollywood and its elite, from the glory days of MGM to the present.

Listening to this book and hearding Debbie Reynolds was very awkward. It was like she was randomly gossiping. I have a feeling that she needed some more money and that is why she decided to write this book. It was like she was tattling on everyone but herself.
After listening to this book, all I can say is that she is a foolish woman who picked the wrong guys and never blamed herself. Don't bother.

Fly Away is the story of three women who have lost their way and need each other - plus a miracle - to transform their lives. An emotionally-complex, heart-wrenching novel about love, family, motherhood, loss, and redemption, Fly Away reminds us that where there is life, there is hope and where there is love, there is forgiveness. Told with her trademark visceral storytelling and illuminating prose, Kristin Hannah reveals why she is one of the most beloved writers of our day.

I was very disappointed in this audiobook. I have been doing a lot of driving and the first one made me want to keep driving. This second one was bad. I loved the focus on the main characters in the first one. This one, I really didn't care to hear all about Cloud's story at all. I don't recommend it.

From the author of the best-selling Three Junes comes an intimate new work of fiction: a tale of two sisters, together and apart, told in their alternating voices over 25 years. Louisa Jardine is the older one, the conscientious student, precise and careful: the one who yearns for a good marriage, an artistic career, a family. Clem, the archetypal youngest, is the rebel: uncontainable, iconoclastic, committed to her work but not to the men who fall for her daring nature.
