Kris Longknife is another great female character around which a whole universe of action can be created, much like Elizabeth Moon's Kylara Vatta or David Weber's Honor Harrington. All the Kris Longknife stories all have a similar structure but it works from beginning to end, leaving you wanting more. Can't wait for "Undaunted" to arrive on audio.

They first appear as a series of dots on astronomical plates, heading from Saturn directly toward Earth. Since the ringed planet carries no life, scientists deduce the mysterious ship to be a visitor from another star. The world's frantic efforts to signal the aliens go unanswered. The first contact is hostile: the invaders blast a Soviet space station, seize the survivors, and then destroy every dam and installation on Earth with a hail of asteriods.

A Feast for Crows brings to life dark magic, intrigue and terrible bloodshed as the war-torn landscape of the Seven Kingdoms is threatened by destruction as vast as any in its violent past. The War of the Five Kings has ripped Westeros apart. The bloodthirsty, treacherous and cunning Lannisters occupy the Iron Throne, with allies as ruthless as themselves. Lord Frey was host at the Red Wedding, so called for the massacre of the guests, their screams unheard above the music of the feast.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

A great story line and the narrator does a great job with the diverse range of characters.
The narrator does re-use some voices but with so many key players it would be hard for anyone to do better.
How George managed to keep this story line in place and not get lost is amazing.

What other book might you compare A Feast for Crows (Part One) to and why?

All the Song of Ice and Fire Series.
    Tad Williams: Shadowmarch
    Raymond E Fiest: All his
    David Eddings: All his

    Which scene was your favorite?

    Whole storyline

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Too hard to make a movie about this series, there is just to much happening.
The movie would be a week long

    Any additional comments?

If you love fantasy epics this is for you

    Story

The reader does a good job with an erratic story that sounds more like an abridged version than not. I had to go back and re-listen to the story in case I had missed something, but there are just gaps in the storyline. I listened to it all the way through because I spent the money on it. Not recommended.

I prefer Sean Mangan doing the narration but that was because he did the "7 Ancient Wonders" and others for another audio company. Steven Pacey does pick up the "Matthew Reilly Feel" though with his fast pace and non stop action. Reilly is a true master of this style of writing.
