Richard Mayhew is an unassuming young businessman living in London, with a dull job and a pretty but shrewish fiancée. Then one night he stumbles upon a girl lying on the sidewalk, bleeding. He stops to help her, and his life is changed forever. Soon he finds himself living in a London most people would never have dreamed of: a city of monsters and saints, murderers and angels. It is a world that exists entirely in a subterranean labyrinth of sewer canals and abandoned subway stations.

You really must get past the first 5 minutes of this book because after that you will be drawn in for the full 12+ hours. The author/narrator makes everything seem so vivid and clear it is as if you can close your eyes and watch the most amazing movie you could imagine. Rich turns and twists and some gory and wonderful descriptions will make you wish you were back in the car, just so you could hear the next part of the story! I will be downloading more of this author's work for sure!

The ever after, the demonic realm that parallels our own, is shrinking, and if it disappears, so does all magic. It’s up to witch-turned-daywalking-demon Rachel Morgan to fix the ever-after before the fragile balance between magic users and humans fails. Of course, there’s also the small fact that she caused the ley line to rip in the first place, and her life is forfeit unless she can fix it.

A great new addition to what has to be my favorite series of all time. Kim Harrison always comes up with great twists and turns so the characters never get old and Marguerite Gavin gives the story life. Is this the end or can there possibly be one more! I hope so!

Six shots. Five dead. One heartland city thrown into a state of terror. But within hours the cops have it solved: a slam-dunk case. Except for one thing. The accused man says: "You got the wrong guy". Then he says: "Get Reacher for me". And sure enough, from the world he lives in - no phone, no address, no commitments - ex-military investigator Jack Reacher is coming. In Lee Child's astonishing thriller, Reacher's arrival will change everything - about a case that isn't what it seems, about lives tangled in baffling ways, about a killer who missed one shot - and by doing so gives Jack Reacher one shot at the truth.

We were set to see the movie on NYE and I just had to listen to the book first! The book was great! The characters were rich and layered and you could "see" everything as you listened. This is one of the few series that BOTH my guy and I listen to! Well worth a credit!

When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too—but on his own terms.

I bought this because all of my friends were raving about it. I don't see what the fuss is about. The author obviously never entered into any form of BDSM herself as she doesn't have a clue how they work. This is chix porn. There is nothing wrong with that if it is done well. 50 Shades is not. I am so glad I didn't buy the trilogy! Wasted CREDITS! The narrator sounded like a teenie bopper which I found distrubing for this subjet matter. Anna is supposed to be 21.

The repettitive use of "oh my" got on my nerves. The reading of the emails with time, date, subject matter and full signatures had me saying blah blah blah over the top of them.

Who was this girl's editor??? Seriously!

Would you consider the audio edition of Shadow of Night to be better than the print version?

I really like Jennifer Ikeda's narration. The story was not as good as Discovery of Witches. It was still entertaining. I would listen to another of Deborah's books.

What about Jennifer Ikeda’s performance did you like?

She has a great voice that let the story come alive.

Deep in the stacks of Oxford's Bodleian Library, young scholar Diana Bishop unwittingly calls up a bewitched alchemical manuscript in the course of her research. Descended from an old and distinguished line of witches, Diana wants nothing to do with sorcery; so after a furtive glance and a few notes, she banishes the book to the stacks. But her discovery sets a fantastical underworld stirring, and a horde of daemons, witches, and vampires soon descends upon the library.

But Green rebelled.Green killed the Duke, and many others, and won her freedom. Yet she is still claimed by the gods and goddesses of her world, and they still require her service. Their demands are greater than any duke's could have been.

We loved Green and kept watching for the next book to come out. Green was just the build up for this adventure which left a wide opening for the next book. It might seem odd but I think we will like book 3 better than book 2. There is a little too much going on all the time and to much set up without conclususion. We will still go for book 3 and hope for the best as long as they keep Katherine Kellgren as the narrator.
