    Story

This book is the life story of a very talented guy, who states that with prayer from his parents, a few key opportunities and a lot of talented people helping him has become one of the world's top performers.

Jeff opens up about his experiences and shares his personal views and appreciation for all the great opportunities he has had in his career. Jeff started at an early age, it isn't by chance he is successful. Being a grounded person, who has a clarity about life really makes for a great story.

A talented guy with a big heart.

Funnyman Adam Carolla is known for two things: hilarious rants about things that drive him crazy and personal stories about everything from his hardscrabble childhood to his slacker friends to the hypocrisy of Hollywood. He tackled rants in his first book, and now he tells his best stories and debuts some never-before-heard tales as well. Adam Carolla started broke and blue collar and has now been on the Hollywood scene for over 15 years. Yet he never lost his underdog demeanor.

    Story

Listening to Adam vamp about his experiences growing up makes this book an easy listen. The story is illustrated by the different houses and apartments he grew up in, and what he was doing at the time. A great way to prompt funny, awkward memories. If you aren't familiar with Adam, listen and discover the understated High School jock, with a big heart.

Adam tells a story like none other, and keeps you laughing. A great listen that will no doubt leave you wanting more.

    Story
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

My wife started reading this series, so I thought I would listen while travelling, so we would have something to talk about. I must say that the story has it's erotic moments, but frankly the surrounding story is actually pretty good, as long as you forgive it's rudimentary writing.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Watch out for catch phrases and redundant conversations.

What three words best describe Becca Battoe’s voice?

    young, awkward, mundane

Did Fifty Shades of Grey inspire you to do anything?

It helped me understand what my wife was reading, and thus benefitted through experimentation.

    Any additional comments?

I was somewhat disappointed by the first book, the writing seemed elementary, and the touted erotic scenes were over the top. However, it leads into the second book, which is a much better story. Definitely not for kids, and it is uncomfortable early on.

A lot of people complain about the narrator. I put my Ipod on x2 playback, and it kept things moving along nicely. There was a re-release of the audio that changed the pace, which seems to have helped.
