Stella Gunn is the lead singer and lead guitarist of the Blue Moon Gypsies, and Stella used to be Mace’s girl. But Kai “Mace” Mason broke up with her and the loss of him rocked her world. One night, Stella gets a call, late (again), from one of the members of her crazy band. She has to go play clean up (again) and runs into Mace (and a shed load of police) and ends up getting shot. Mace finds he doesn’t like it much that his ex-girlfriend got shot right in front of him, but it’s worse. A very bad man has thrown down the gauntlet, and all the Rock Chicks are in the firing line.

What did you like best about Rock Chick Reckoning? What did you like least?

I liked the closeness of all the people in the story. The most-of-the-time cool head of "Mace"The bulldozer effect could make me laugh. What I liked least ? Stella. Okay she has issues. Okay she's mostly keeping it together some of the time BUT after a while I found myself muttering to her ... " Oh good Lord I can't believe you said that!" "Can she really be that stupid?" *Eye roll* When she should have been getting 'it' she sticks her head in the sand. Not seeing things as they are but in her own screwed up perception. Yikes. Of all the Rock Chicks I liked Stella the least.

If you’ve listened to books by Kristen Ashley before, how does this one compare?

I'm kinda new to Kristen Ashley's books. Although I started with Law Man and Motorcycle Man and now have a number of the Rock Chicks series ... This has all the drama, roller coaster ups and downs and passion of the other books. That part is solid. The story was good. I've liked others better, like the first Rock Chick and Rock Chick Rescue. I gave it a three overall and a five for the performance. I should/could bump up the 'story' to a four but *shakes head* the "Stella thing"

Have you listened to any of Susannah Jones’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This one is right in line with her other performances. I'm satisfied with how she read the parts of the different characters. Some people's reading is like nails on chalkboard. Not Susannah. She is good.

Do you think Rock Chick Reckoning needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

There already is a follow up kinda with at least another book in the series after this one. If you mean continue on with Mace and Stella, their life together? No. Oh good Lord no. More stories in which Mace and Stella are a part of sure.

    Any additional comments?

I am never moving to Colorado. Never. And Denver? I think I'd feel safer in L.A. Listening/reading these books is as close as I'd ever want to be even if it means I don't get my own Hot Bunch guy *sigh*

Anna never knew werewolves existed until the night she survived a violent attack...and became one herself. After three years at the bottom of the pack, she'd learned to keep her head down and never, ever trust dominant males. But Anna is that rarest kind of werewolf: an Omega. And one of the most powerful werewolves in the country will recognize her value as a pack member - and as his mate.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Patricia Briggs writes a great story and Holter Graham just adds to it. The inflection, the expression brings her stories alive.

Who was your favorite character and why?

There isn't just one. Both Anna and Charles. His patience and strength. Her own strength and spunk that she finds.

    Which scene was your favorite?

It's difficult to say a 'favorite scene' I found the story an emotional roller coaster. I find tears in my eyes and then I'd bark with laughter minutes later. Okay my favorite scene was when Anna reminded herself she didn't have to obey the witch and decked her.

    Any additional comments?

As I said Briggs + Graham = Excellence. A great story can be lost with the wrong narrator. I think Holter Graham could make listening to the alphabet interesting. And I was reading Patricia Briggs books back when my eyes let me read. I'm looking forward to more.

Orphaned and besieged, Princess Alesandra knew that only hasty marriage to an Englishman could protect her from the turmoil in her own land. But when Alesandra was nearly abducted by her unscrupulous countrymen, the fighting instincts that won Colin a knighthood for valor were kindled. Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Nice memories from reading it myself the first time and the narrator didn't detract from the enjoyment with *shudders* those blasted whispers like "The Gift" I love the butler, so sweet. Was a fun, enjoyable listen for me.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Castles?

Colin tossing the kidnapper out the window then assuring that yes, he forgot to open it first...

Which character – as performed by Heather Wilds – was your favorite?

I enjoyed all the characters in this performance. They flowed well and distinct inflection between the characters voices.

Do you think Castles needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

There wasn't any secondary characters that weren't already married 'cept Colin's younger sisters. I suppose a story could be written of one (or all) of them. Also I'd thought it would be interesting to have a story of a son or grandson/granddaughter (or great-grandson/granddaughter) How the Family traits come through in future generations and in a modern setting but the kinda regency feel. So yes I've thought about it.

    Any additional comments?

Very happy with this purchase. Now to listen to "The Lion's Lady and pray for no breathy whispers. Men shouldn't have breathy whispers.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Kinda 50/50 I read the book before and J. Garwood has been a favorite author for a number of years But the narration had me cringing every time I heard a "whisper" The by play between the characters has always been good but I kinda wish I could comfortably read some books myself instead of listening.

What other book might you compare The Gift to and why?

The other books in the series. I will still get "The Lyon's Lady" even if it has the same narrator.

What didn’t you like about Susan Duerden’s performance?

The 'whispering' raspy drawn out. Probably trying for sensual but falling short. I don't remember so much whispering when I first read the book. Please Ms Duerden try something else when narrating. Perhaps there should be two narrators, one for male characters and one for female....

Did The Gift inspire you to do anything?

cringe. The by play still had me laughing " .. he calls me Damnit Sara ... " I was waiting for that part in the story and wasn't disappointed in that

Only sixteen, already she possessed a strength of will that impressed all who looked past her golden-haired beauty. Yet when King John demanded that she remarry - and selected a bridegroom for her - it seemed she must acquiesce, until her beloved foster brother suggested she wed his friend, the handsome Scottish warrior Gabriel MacBain.

I enjoy Julie Garwood's stories, have for years but was disappointed in Saving Grace. For Me there wasn't a spark. The narrator tried, perhaps too hard. I will still be looking for stories from Julie Garwood and hope that I find more that spark than fizzle.

I've read both books (so far) in the series. Passionate. Adventurous. Erotic. I enjoyed the byplay between characters. And in this second book especially the feeling touched me. As I said I laughed and I cried. I don't want to spoil the story for others in spilling things. I will say though that shifters are a lusty, passionate lot. Some was more than I'd find comfortable, but perhaps, it is that I never found someone so overwhelming that I could trust so deeply.
I look forward to the next book in the series and can see a number of future stories with strong, passionate males AND females.

I must say that I didn't even listen all the way through. It may be fine for others just not me. I believe it was read correctly as how the writer had written it, going for a certain style. I enjoyed watching the series and so thought I'd enjoy the books. I didn't. It was this monotone, kinda 40's (I'm thinking) detective style. No real inflection. I did not feel a connection to the characters, didn't care that Dresden was behind in his rent, and even with that had scrupels in regards to his prospective client. To me a sad waste of a credit in buying a book.
