"Good story"
Dave Barry writes some great stories. They have a good pace, interesting characters and fun reads. But I have to agree with other comments that not having another narrator was a mistake. The reading was dull and monotone. A good narrator makes a good book great and I think this one could have used that push.
"laughing out loud!"
I was so glad I got this book. The story itself wasn't the best part even though it was a fun and entertaining story.. It was the hysterical banter and wit that all the characters traded with each other. And even through the most romantic or heartwarming moments you knew there was going to be something coming up shortly that would make you laugh out loud. I just wish I could use that kind of wit when dealing with my own romantic situations! Too fun! I am really looking forward to the next book written by Molly Harper.
"Tim Dorsey is a genius"
Because I love historical fiction that is sommetimes very heavy with drama, Its always great to read another fun story about Serge Storms and Coleman. It's like having a couple of crazy friends that you love to hear about their antics to have a lighthearted and sometimes a laugh-out-loud time with. Another great work by Tim Dorsey.
"Amazing and Captiving from the first minute!"
I was not sure I would like this book since it's not my usual genre, but the story seemed to have so many facets, that I was willing to take a chance. Especially since the last 4 or 5 books I downloaded were adequate at best. The narrator is the best I have ever heard. His tone is smooth and voice changes for different characters is unique and makes it much easier to follow this incredible and exciting story. I didn't want the 11 hours to be over and was constantly surprised and amazed at the detail and touching stories of each characters life that the author had a never ending supply of. You would feel like you were at the edge of story being told watching it unfold. I can't wait to see what other fabulous books this author has and I hope he uses the same narrator for all of them.
"Gotta love Tim Dorsey"
A good story with enough wit and interesting twists and turns to be a fun read.
"Disappointment..."
I like Danielle Steele and have read many of her books. This one, however, is so dull and so predictable that I didn't even finish it. It's like a long overview of a story that could have been so much more. And the narrator speaks like he is reading a story to a room full of 5 year olds. It was a miss on all counts so I'll wait for her next work to come out and hope for better.
"Loved this book."
I didn't purchase this book for months. I didn't think I would like it, but I actually loved it. The narration was wonderful and the story flowed so well it was amazing. The author took the reader from past to present so seamlessly that I couldn't tell which part of the story I was more enthralled by. I am now reading her other book and looking forward to finding out there is a third.
"Good story, not so great narrator"
I like Barry Eislers books. This is the 4th one I've listened to in the last month. I particularly like the ones he narrates. Unfortunately, the narrator on this book sounds just like the 8th grade science movies you had to sit through. It's more of a drone than a narration. I'm hoping after few chapters I dont' notice anymore.
