    Ric says: "Great Book"
    "THE best Koontz book!"
    Overall

Great characters, great story, great book. This is easily Koontz's best book and one of my favorite books of all time. It was a sad moment when I finished this book, as I never wanted it to end. Absolute perfection! It is a crime not to read this book.

Police detective Harry Lyon is a perfectionist who likes his files error-free. To Harry's dismay, his partner, Connie Gulliver, embraces chaos, urging him to "get in touch with the rhythms of destruction." But when Harry and Connie have to kill in the line of duty, the ensuing surreal nightmare makes Connie's cynical world view seem all too accurate.

    "Another good Koontz book"
    Overall

This book has decent characters and a fairly interesting plot. The villain is great, but the explanation of the origin of his supernatural abilities leaves a lot to be desired. Perhaps a bit drawn out and bogged down in detail at times, but definitely worth reading. I find the golem's behavior to be rather amusing most of the time.

Dylan O'Connor, a gifted young artist, is attacked by a mysterious "doctor" and injected with a strange substance. He is told that he is now a carrier of something that will either kill him...or transform his life. Then he is told that he must flee before the doctor's enemies hunt him down. Stunned, disbelieving, Dylan is turned loose to run for his life - and straight into an adventure that will turn the next 24 hours into an odyssey of terror, mystery, and wondrous discovery.

    Mary S. Murray says: "Superb"
    "Second best Koontz book"
    Overall

This book has some great characters and a great plot. The powers are unrealistic, despite their fairly realistic origin (speaking as a neuroscientist myself). Some great humor is included and the story is both interesting and, unlike some Koontz plots, non-depressing. It is one of my favorite books.
