I would say it is a top 20. Stephen King stories are excellent and the reader was able to show great emotion.
I have and would again, I just wish Sissy Spacek knew how to pronounce Desjardins.
I was actually the most moved by the forward by Stephen King himself explaining where the idea for the novel came from and his regret over not helping the outcasts who were bullied in his youth. Made me think a lot more about it and possibly my own ineptitude in the past.
The idea to inspire is good but the non stop Apple love fest shows he didn't understand that company either. They have lost their WHY after Jobs died. They had no WHY when he was not at the company. They no longer lead but follow the feature list chasing that he described all the other examples of bad companies doing in the book. Basically this does not stand the test of time, you have a great CEO but who is next in line? Always the WHAT COO guy that sinks the company.
I understand this is a novel for teens but the idiocy of the decision making by the characters makes everything so predictable.
I have listened to all of the novels by Tom Clancy in the Jack Ryan universe and I especially like the audiobooks read by Scott Brick. I may branch into the Op Center books and I would gladly listen to Scott Brick.
The gap filling to a character you thought you knew so well. Jack Ryan is a well known character spanning so many books yet with this one it filled in even more back story and gave you more of what you wanted. I just wished that Clancy could have reduced some of the repetitive nature of his writing describing the nature of the characters.
He did a pretty good job for most but at times I could not figure out when he switched from one Russian to another.
I am eagerly waiting for anything from the Jack Ryan series.
Not one of the best in the Jack Ryan series so I would say listen only for completeness
The reader's voice is great but I wish the sound engineer would cut the chapters so that the last sentence doesn't get repeated as the first sentence of the next chapter.
Somebody who didn't have such a sleepy old man voice. I felt like I would fall asleep listening to him.
I couldn't hold on and listen to enough of the book to comment on the story but the narrator just disappointed me.
