Do you have a hobby you wish you could indulge in all day? An obsession that keeps you up at night? Now is the perfect time to take that passion and make a living doing what you love. In Crush It! Why NOW Is the Time to Cash In on Your Passion, Gary Vaynerchuk shows you how to use the power of the Internet to turn your real interests into real businesses.

    Overall

It starts with promises of methods to start doing what you love, then goes on to become a redundant ramble about the benefits of having a personal website and the evils of corporate workplaces, which turned out to be difficult to swallow.

I've never heard of this guy before, and his repetitive plugging of his work at Wine Library TV (and he mentions that A LOT) becomes extremely irritating halfway through.

Also, the author/narrator is talking as if he's the obnoxious guy hanging out with the gang. If I had a penny for every time he said "Are you ready for this?" I'd easily have more than I paid for this purchase. I wanted an audiobook to listen to, not a guy who thinks he's cool telling the rest of us how we got it all wrong and he didn't.

Could Superman sue if someone exposed his identity as Clark Kent? Is a life sentence for an immortal like Apocalypse "cruel and unusual punishment"? Is X-ray vision a violation of search and seizure laws? Is the Joker legally insane? And who foots the bill when a hero destroys a skyscraper or two while defending Metropolis? Fear not, gentle listener! The answers to these questions and a multitude more are contained inside this audiobook.

Newcago is free. They told David it was impossible, that even the Reckoners had never killed a High Epic. Yet Steelheart - invincible, immortal, unconquerable - is dead. And he died by David's hand.Eliminating Steelheart was supposed to make life simpler. Instead, it only made David realize he has questions. Big ones. And no one in Newcago can give him answers.Babylon Restored, the city formerly known as the borough of Manhattan, has possibilities, though.

    Story

This story continues the saga of the Reckoners and their fight against the super powered Epics. It could have easily fallen into the trap of making the world it's set in uninteresting as the lore, theories and secrets of what's going on are revealed. However, it doesn't. It manages to keep things quiet interesting by switching gears from the one-mission plot of the previous book. I can't wait for the next book in the series, and if it doesn't have a major reveal about the key element introduced later on in this book, I will be disappointed.

    Wait, no I won't.

Uncover why the Titanic sank, ponder the sinister Vatican/Mafia network that plotted the assassination of liberal John Paul, find out why NASA 'lost' its files on Mars, read why no-one enters Area 51, and consider why medical supplies were already on site at Edgware Road before the 7/7 bombs detonated. Just because you are paranoid, it doesn't mean that they aren't out to conspire against you.

This is a disappointment. It gives very little information before the annoying alert blares out to signal a transition between two 4-minute chapters. When I realized that it will probably blare every few minutes in this 12 hour book, I stopped.

Either don't buy this book, or get some aspirins because you will get a headache.

Almost everyone swears, or worries about not swearing, from the two year-old who has just discovered the power of potty mouth to the grandma who wonders why every other word she hears is obscene. Whether they express anger or exhilaration, are meant to insult or to commend, swear words perform a crucial role in language. But swearing is also a uniquely well-suited lens through which to look at history, offering a fascinating record of what people care about on the deepest levels of a culture - what's divine, what's terrifying, and what's taboo.

This audiobook is full of colorful words and nasty phrases, and although it gives a good insight into the underbelly of major European civilizations in the past, it doesn't hold back with the swear words. So if you're sensitive about what you want to hear, or have any kids or easily offended people around, you might want to reconsider this.

Ever since Martin Banks and his fellow computer geeks discovered that reality is just a computer program to be happily hacked, they've been jaunting back and forth through time, posing as medieval wizards and having the epic adventures that other nerds can only dream of having. But even in their wildest fantasies, they never expected to end up at the mercy of the former apprentice whom they sent to prison for gross misuse of magic and all-around evil behavior.

A month has passed since Martin helped to defeat the evil programmer Jimmy, and things couldn't be going better. Except for his love life, that is. Feeling distant and lost, Gwen has journeyed to Atlantis, a tolerant and benevolent kingdom governed by the Sorceresses, and a place known to be a safe haven to all female time-travelers.

This is a continuation of the Magic 2.0 series, set in Atlantis. The sense of discovery has been diminished since we know by now how things work, but the introduction of a woman-ruled Atlantis and their rules gives a new area to discover. Story-wise, the events are a bit flat. The characters and their interactions are what carries this story forward.

Luke Daniels does an excellent job bringing the characters to life. This is one of the most interesting and fun stories I've listened to.

Philip. He's a colorful character who doesn't shy from pointing out what the audience thinks, and is the center of every scene he's in.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The moment where Martin meets Merlin for the first time. I listened to that part over and over. Hilarious and unexpected.

The fourth volume in Will Durant's Pulitzer Prize-winning series, The Age of Faith surveys the medieval achievements and modern significance of Christian, Islamic, and Judaic life and culture. Like the other volumes in the Story of Civilization series, this is a self-contained work, which at the same time fits into a comprehensive history of mankind. It includes the dramatic stories of St. Augustine, Hypatia, Justinian, Mohammed, Harun al-Rashid, Charlemagne, William the Conqueror, and many more.

This audiobook is produced for a book that's over 60 years old, so while it might have been the best the author could do based on their research and biases, it's still pretty thorough. If you want more details about specific religions, however, you might consider picking more contemporary materials.

Don't expect a deep profound story here, and you'll enjoy it. This is a continuation of a military sci-fi saga that spans galaxies and years, fighting aliens and machines over vast and complex battlefields. That way, you'll enjoy this story as it is meant to be listened to.

Twenty years after the elemental conflict that nearly tore apart the cosmos in The Saga of Seven Suns, a new threat emerges from the darkness. The human race must set aside its own inner conflicts to rebuild their alliance with the Ildiran Empire for the survival of the galaxy. In Kevin J. Anderson's The Dark Between the Stars, galactic empires clash, elemental beings devastate whole planetary systems, and factions of humanity are pitted against one another.

As a fan of the Saga of the Seven Suns, this has been on my playlist for a long while. I am glad I finally came around to listen to it. Kevin Anderson does a great job in building a universe full of elemental, primordial and mysterious creatures without taking away from the human element.

Not all characters, new or returning, are equally interesting, however. But the bigger conflicts more than make up for the slow parts of the story. I hope the characters featured in the slower parts of the story have a more interesting role in the rest of this trilogy. Regardless, I am definitely going to buy the remaining two books as soon as they are available.
