"Young people starting out in television sometimes say to me: 'I want to be you.' My stock reply is always: 'Then you have to take the whole package.'" And now, at last, the most important woman in the history of television journalism gives us that "whole package", in her inspiring and riveting memoir. After more than 40 years of interviewing celebrities of all kinds, Barbara Walters has turned her gift for examination onto herself to reveal the forces that shaped her extraordinary life.

Barbara Walters has done SO much and with such a great attitude. She's changed the way women are viewed and treated in television. I really enjoyed this book. I'm not a very political person, so some of the foreign leader interviews weren't super interesting to me - but the way they were communicated were always with a personal focus which is something you don't usually get when watching a formal interview.

Why we think it’s a great listen: An all-time Audible favorite that mixes historic fiction, adventure, and romance with one of the most fascinating literary devices: time travel. Outlander introduces an exhilarating world of heroism and breathtaking thrills as one woman is torn between past and present, passion and love. In 1945, former combat nurse Claire Randall returns from World War II and joins her husband for a second honeymoon. But their blissful reunion is shattered....

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

The first few hours were interesting - but now I've been wading through several hours of them having various suggestive interludes, then sex. Enough already. Where's the story. It reminds me of a 2 1/2 hour movie that could have been a great movie at 1 3/4. I'm all for sex in romance books - but I feel like the same dynamic is being repeated over and over and over and I find myself praying that she'll get away and back to the present time just to get away from this predictable love affair. *yawn* I just can't finish it.

What three words best describe Davina Porter’s voice?

I just didn't like her. She made everything sound nonchalant and I suppose it is - but it just aggravated the repetition.

At least one-third of the people we know are introverts. They are the ones who prefer listening to speaking, reading to partying; who innovate and create but dislike self-promotion; who favor working on their own over brainstorming in teams. Although they are often labeled "quiet," it is to introverts that we owe many of the great contributions to society--from van Gogh’s sunflowers to the invention of the personal computer.

What made the experience of listening to Quiet the most enjoyable?

One of the best books I've ever read - nevermind heard. I felt like she was speaking right to me and at such a pivotal point in my life. I let my husband - an extrovert - read it too - and he has gotten just as much out of it - although completely different.

If you're an introvert who feels like you have to be an extrovert to get ahead, or that your
